  Hi, we're looking for someone who is willing to share with us our lifestyle. This is an invitation towards a special someone who loves animals, nature and her beauty. We live in the womb of mother nature with her unique babies. We're talking about an exclusive studfarm of American Miniature horses and donkeys about 4 km away from the Cala de Mijas beach in the Costa del Sol.
  
  I would'nt dare to use the word "work" in exchange for food and housing because we don't believe that taking care of our animal family can be considered as such, this is how we approach our daily responsibilities about them.
  
  Our's is a non-profit association and we offer free therapy and visits to hospitals,old-age homes and centers for disabled children. The american miniature is a therapeutic animal and makes magic happen when humans come in contact with them, be it for a specific disability or simply to break moments from the stressful routine our modern society imposes!
  
  We are specifically looking for a person or a couple who desires to live amidst our horses and donkeys (20 in total ) dedicating a couple of hours in the morning and another three hours in the evening 5 days/ week in exchange for a place to live in total privacy ( not in the same house ) but within our property (or in your camper van), food and internet.
  This opportunity includes the possibility to spend the rest of the day working elsewhere or studying if necessary but the priority should be our animals every morning and evening.
  
  In the mornings, they will need to be fed and their water buckets brushed and refreshed with clean water and the evenings will be dedicated to cleaning the paddocks to ensure that they are all well and happy.
  
  We live on the site and this implies that we will be present constantly and check on them on a daily basis.
  
  The minimum period should be atleast a month extendable to a longer period provided everything goes well.
  
  If you share a similar vision to ours and are looking forward to a new enriching experience, we will be more than happy to welcome you in our little paradise where silence reigns and mother nature sings.

  The Costa del Sol is a multicultural community which means that you will find opportunities to meet people from various countries apart from learning the local language and spanish culture.

  Arbeit

  There is no need to have specific requirements with regard to previous experience with equids. What is absolutely a "Must" is love and dedication towards the animal kingdom. "Respect" is the keyword and ability that should be epressed towards them. We will spend the time to teach you how to take care of them and familiarise with them.

  Unterkunft

  You will be living amonst the animals where there is a cozy bungalow as your room/bedroom. The shower and toilet is situated a few steps away ( not in the bungalow ). The kitchen is separate too, you have a dishwasher and a washing machine eclusively for your use situated close to the bungalow. It's a sort of a camping style of life.
  
  Ingredients will be provided, you can cook in your own kitchen that we provide.

  Possibilty to work eslewhere in your freetime, study or write a book with free internet included. We are just 4 kms away from the beach where you can find public transport and other services like supermarkets, pharmacy etc.
  Our recent experience with a few workawayers compell us to be clear on the following points:
  - Kindly be punctual with the chores scheduled daily. This implies that if ever you decide to leave the premises in the afternoon ( during your 5 volunteering days ) , kindly first ensure that you complete the daily tasks assigned to you. Unfortunately a few workawayers who choose ( on volonteering days ) to go the beach for example or visiting elsewhere have not been able to be back by the evening to do the cleaning if not very late when it was already dark making it impossible to complete the task. In order to avoid tension and disagreements of any sort, kindly be diligent.
  - Remember to switch of the fan and light while leaving the room.
  - Please be conscious about the food in the fridge and avoid wastage. ( We have found stale food in the fridge several times ) We will not buy alcohol .
  - If you smoke, you must be extremely cautious as we have hay bales and our region ( Andalucia ) is a very dry one. Most of the fire accidents start because of this reason.
  - We will provide you with all that covers the basic necesseties like food, bedding, towels, blankets, detergent for the washing machine, soap for showering but all the other toiletteries (deodorant, personal cream etc) you will need to provide for yourself.
  -Kindly keep the room, bathroom and kitchen clean and tidy daily especially as a sign of respect toward the other volunteers.
  
  Last but not the least, enjoy your stay with our precious hooved angels.
  Keep in mind that your precious contribution will touch many lives of those in need, the sick and the elderly:)
