  We're Robin and Aude, a couple with two young kids who recently bought a house 35 minutes from Barcelona by train. We have big dreams for this place - growing our own food, restoring the land, and bringing it back to life. We'd love some help along the way!

  We're French-New Zealand parents who've lived in six different countries and travelled to over 100, but we've chosen to put down roots in Catalonia becasue we love it here. We'd love to share why we think this is such a special part of the world.
  
  Everyone in our family was born in a different country - we are internationalists at heart - and love to experience fresh perspectives, and the energy that comes from creating something together with people from different backgrounds.
  
  On the skills side, Robin and Aude will be planning tasks with you and joining where we can. If you've never grown your own vegetables or thought about creating a more self-sufficient home, this is a great place to start learning. We're figuring a lot of it out as we go - and we'd love to figure it out with you!

  Arbeit

  THE PROJECT:
  We've taken on a beautiful but neglected property surrounded by forest. Our dream is to grow as much of our own food as we can, while balancing family and work - we're hoping you'll join us on this adventure.
  
  These are the projects we're currently working on:
  
  •⁠ ⁠Transforming a long-unused vegetable garden, ready for planting
  •⁠ ⁠Preparing land for a small fruit orchard
  •⁠ ⁠Creating a wildflower meadow
  •⁠ ⁠General garden tasks: weeding, clearing pathways
  
  When we can, we will do tasks alongside you on most projects. Some tasks can also be done independently if you prefer to get into a rhythm on your own. Gardening experience or practical/DIY skills are a bonus, but what matters most is a positive attitude and willingness to get stuck in. *We recommend a sun hat if you're joining us in Summer - it gets hot!*
  
  WHAT WE OFFER:
  •⁠ ⁠Your own private floor of the house, with a private room, private bathroom, and full use of the floor's common areas (excluding our home office) - plenty of space and privacy when you want it
  •⁠ ⁠Three vegan meals a day
  •⁠ ⁠Use of our large pool
  •⁠ ⁠A warm welcome into family life - we have young children who'd love to meet you, though looking after them is absolutely not part of the deal!
  
  Please note: we occasionally have other guests, and on those occasions the bathroom may be shared.
  
  THE EXCHANGE:
  We ask for *20 hours of help per week per person*, leaving you plenty of time to explore. The train station is a 20 minute walk away, putting Barcelona, the Costa Brava beaches (35 mins by car) and the Catalan countryside within easy reach. You don't need a car, but having one opens up a lot.
  
  WHO WE'RE LOOKING FOR:
  This is great for a solo traveller or a couple. We speak English, French, and some Spanish, and are happy with any of these. No specific experience needed - just enthusiasm, reliability, and someone who enjoys helping with their hands. A fondness for kids and family life is a plus!
  
  Minimum stay: 1 week (longer stays welcome - there's no shortage of projects!)
