Hello Workawayers!
We are a small family-run hilltop resort in Charikot, Nepal (about 5 hours from Kathmandu), surrounded by peaceful greenery and breathtaking Himalayan views. Our place is known for its calm atmosphere, homemade food from our garden, and a love for nature.
We would love to host a horticulturist (or someone with solid experience in permaculture/organic gardening) who can help us make our vegetable garden thrive. We’re looking for someone who is not only passionate about plants but also has the knowledge to improve soil, design planting, and guide us toward a more self-sustaining garden.Arten von Hilfe und Lernmöglichkeiten

We are in Charikot, there are plently of public transport options to reach us from kathmandu, and we drive up and down ourselves often. If you can bring your ideas and knowledge and help the staff implement the necessary to make a proper vegetable garden, we would be thrilled.
Regular buses and shared jeeps run daily from the capital, and we’re happy to guide you on the best way to get here. Once in Charikot, everything is within walking distance, and local buses or jeeps or tuktuks can take you further into the surrounding villages and mountains.
During your time off, you can:
Hike in the surrounding hills for panoramic Himalayan views
Visit local villages and markets to experience authentic rural Nepali life
Explore nearby temples and monasteries, some with incredible mountain backdrops
Relax in our gardens with a book, practice yoga, or enjoy the quiet atmosphere
Join local festivals or family gatherings if they happen during your stay
Take short trips (by bus or jeep) to scenic spots such as Dolakha Bhimsen Temple or Kalinchowk, a beautiful hilltop pilgrimage site with breathtaking views
The area is perfect for anyone looking to connect with local life while enjoying the mountains.Etwas mehr Information

Our property is on a hill at 2000m altitude. We currently grow Plum trees, Kiwis, Carrots, Pumpkin, Green beans, Cucumbers, Potatoes, Chilly, Bittergourd, Cauliflower, Kale, Roquette, Rosemary, Parsley, Mint, Basil and plenty of flowers in the garden. Our staff have farming knowledge but limited to the food that they eat, local dishes, and are unfamiliar with the vegetables we serve in our international dishes, and also lack experience with separating the sections and rotating the planting to keep the soil healthy. We have plently of grounds that have potential and also two tunnels.
