  Hello everybody
  I am Swissgerman originally but have come back to this beautiful region of France where I already once lived in the 1980s. I live on a beautifully converted 19th century farm - I rent out the mainhouse to tourists over summer while I live in a small house next to it all year around. Workawayers are welcome to come and stay in a completely independent mobilehome with private terrasse, bathroom, kitchen etc.
  The farm stands alone on a hill but is situated in the heart of the touristic region of the Perigord Noir in the Dordogne. Having your own transport is essential here!
  I am looking for independent travellers that have some experience working the land or have some other handyman qualities.

  Although privately located, the house is centrally situated amidst innumerable attractions and outdoor activities of the Dordogne. But you really need your own car to get around here!!
  I will gladly show you around some of the local gems here, and I am happy to exchange and learn from you too. The farm itself is rurally situated, there's some beautiful walking just outside the house. I have some bicycles you can borrow too.

  I would love to have some helping hands to help with the tasks that needs to be done on the land - lawn mowing, gardening, general maintenance, animal care (sheep, cats and dogs) as well as keeping the main house clean.

  Unterkunft

  You have a privately located 4x8m mobile home to yourself with own kitchen, 2 bedrooms, living room, small bathroom and a terrasse. There's hot water and electricity, possibility to use the wifi at my house but not at the mobile home.
  Seeing as I am renting out the main house (roughly 150m from the mobile home) I need to keep the environment calm - so workawayers must take care not to be too noisy, no loud music etc.

  You really need your own car to get around here!
  The Dordogne is most famous for its worldclass medieval castles (Chateau Castelnaud / Beynac / Milandes / Marqueyssac), medieval towns (Sarlat, with the highest density of historical monuments in France! / Domme / LaRocGageac / Perigueux) and prehistoric sites (Font de Gaume / Lascaux / RocSt.Christophe). Within 10min of the property you can also indulge in numerous outdoor activities such as canoeing, golfing, horseback riding, mountain biking, hiking, climbing, water and adventure parks etc.
  
  Every day of the week a traditional street market is taking place in another romantic medieval town close by. A great opportunity to taste the regional delicacies - a highlight for all gourmets!
  
  Various large and small wineries invite you to taste their produce. Discover the famous wine regions of Bergerac, Monbazillac, Cahors, and Bordeaux and live 'like God in France'.
  
  The region is known the world over for its wealth in prehistoric caves with up to 17,000 years old polychrome works of art (Lascaux 30min, Font de Gaume 10min, Grotte de Rouffignac 10 min), as well as geologically unique stalactite and stalagmite caves (Grotte Grand Roc 10min, Gouffre de Proumeyssac 20min, Gouffre Padirac 1hour).
  The village 'Les Eyzies' (10 min) is home to the National Museum of Prehistory and the international exposure and information center 'Pole International de la Prehistoire'.
  
  The medieval castles of 'Chateau Castlenaud' and 'Chateau Beynac' (conquered by Richard the Lionheart) have played crucial roles in the french/english Hundred Years War in the 14th century. Both provide unforgettable visits and great insights into europe's medieval history through museums and fantastic architecture. The 'Chateau des Milandes' and 'Chateau Marqueyssac' are also great highlights that shouldn't be missed.
  
  A large network of hiking trails lead through the whole region. Along wild creeks, through endless chestnut and oak forests, past impressive rock formations and stunning natural landscapes. My daughter Michela is a professional tour guide and will gladly provide you with options!
