  We are Taif and Estee, a Dutch couple who left behind successful careers and a comfortable life in the Netherlands to follow a bigger dream: creating a life filled with freedom, adventure, meaningful connections, and more time in nature.
  
  That dream became, our boutique hotel on the beautiful Cabarete Lagoon in the Dominican Republic.
  
  Together with our daughter Jaya, we live on the property and love welcoming travelers from all over the world. What started as a simple hospitality project has grown into a special place where people come to slow down, recharge, connect with nature, and meet inspiring people from different cultures and backgrounds.
  
  We have a beautiful team of 6 local employees. 1 gardener. 2 cleaners and 3 bartenders. Most of them have been with us for years. Cabarete locals are welcoming, relaxed and responsible according to our experience.
  
  We are located on the Cabarete Lagoon, part of National Park El Choco, surrounded by tropical nature and only minutes away from Cabarete’s famous beaches, surfing, and kitesurfing spots.
  
  We love travel, good food, outdoor adventures, personal growth, entrepreneurship, and genuine human connection. If you’re looking for a place where you can contribute, learn, create, and become part of a meaningful story, we’d love to hear from you.

  We have a boutique hotel built by a Dutch couple Taif(40) and Estee(35) who left successful careers behind to create a more intentional, connected, and adventurous life in the Dominican Republic.
  
  As a volunteer, you’ll experience life in a tropical beach town while learning about hospitality, entrepreneurship, and building a business abroad. You’ll meet travelers from around the world, share stories, ideas, and experiences, and become part of a community that values genuine human connection.
  
  Located on the beautiful Cabarete Lagoon and close to world class surfing and kitesurfing beaches, we offer a unique opportunity to connect with nature, local culture, and inspiring people from all walks of life.

  Who we’re looking for
  
  At the moment, we’re looking for volunteers who enjoy creating with their hands or helping us deliver a great guest experience. You don’t need to be a professional—we value enthusiasm, initiative, and a willingness to learn.
  
  1. Woodworking & Carpentry Projects
  
  Do you enjoy working with wood? We’d love your help building and improving different areas. Think of projects like wooden platforms, outdoor furniture, doors, shelves, and other creative improvements. We are not building houses—these are fun, practical projects that make our venue even more beautiful.
  
  2. Cement & Creative Building Projects
  
  If you enjoy working with cement or concrete, this could be a great fit. We regularly build unique outdoor features such as cement benches, couches, platforms, planters, and decorative elements. Experience is welcome, but it’s certainly not required if you’re eager to learn and enjoy working with your hands.
  
  3. Digital Guest Experience
  
  We’re also looking for someone who enjoys hospitality and communication. In this role, you’ll help manage our guest communication by responding to messages from current and future guests through our business phone.
  
  Typical conversations include booking inquiries, payments, recommendations, check-in information, and answering guest questions. We already have message templates, standard procedures, and an AI assistant that helps generate replies, making the work much easier.
  
  For this position, we’re looking for someone who speaks both English and basic Spanish. You don’t need to be fluent—we aren’t either—but you should feel comfortable communicating with guests in person when needed. Translation tools are available and used daily.
  
  If you enjoy helping people, staying organized, and being part of a small hospitality business, you’ll gain valuable experience in customer service, boutique hospitality, entrepreneurship, and running a lifestyle business abroad.
  
  We’re looking for positive, proactive people who enjoy contributing, solving problems, and becoming part of our small team while experiencing life in the Dominican Republic.

  Unterkunft

  Volunteers stay in a comfortable shared room within our boutique hotel, together with another Workawayer. Bedding, towels, WiFi, and access to shared bathroom facilities are provided.
  
  Breakfast is included every day.
  
  In addition, we provide two evening meals per week (our popular Indian curries, including a drink). For the remaining days, volunteers receive a food budget and have access to our guest kitchen to prepare their own meals.
  
  We are located directly on the Cabarete Lagoon, part of National Park El Choco. We are just 5 minutes from Cabarete town center, 3 minutes from Kite Beach, and 10 minutes from Encuentro Surf Beach
  
  We are surrounded by tropical nature while remaining close to many things that Cabarete has to offer.

  Cabarete is a paradise for outdoor lovers. In your free time, you can enjoy surfing, kitesurfing, beach days, yoga, hiking, waterfalls, local markets, and exploring the many beautiful spots along the North Coast of the Dominican Republic.
  
  Getting around is easy by motorbike, scooter, bicycle, taxi, or local transport.
  
  We value kindness, respect, reliability, and open communication. We are looking for people who are positive, proactive, and genuinely enjoy connecting with others. We appreciate volunteers who take ownership of their responsibilities and treat the space with care.

Digital nomads are welcome, provided they can balance their own projects with the agreed Workaway responsibilities. We offer reliable WiFi and a peaceful environment to work from.
