… read more sweating haha. The other members of the community are great too, and the energy that envelops you in this community is extraordinary. There's always someone to chat with, to teach you how to juggle, to offer you a coffee or share their various talents, the atmosphere is simple and full of kindness. We were lucky enough to share musical moments with Louise in the beautiful music room, to have a fireside evening in the garden, and even to accompany them on one of their professional fire shows - it was incredible. Everyone is open-minded and endearing, adults and children alike. And we particularly appreciated the communication with the hosts, they always ask you how you're doing, how your day went, what could be improved, really it was one of our best volunteering experiences.
Thanks a lot for the moments shared with you! We'll be back to see you!

Luisa, Renée, Tabea, Christian und die andere Leute waren sehr nett und gastfreundlich: sie haben mir mit deutsch geholfen und sie haben für mich lecker Essen gekocht. … read more konnte selbst entscheiden, wann ich meine fünf Stunden Arbeit machen wollte. Die Kinder waren sehr süss und glücklich und wir hatten tolle Momente verbracht. Ich hatte schöne Momente mit Luisa und John, wo wir Musik zusammen gespielt haben.
Sie nahmen mich mit zu einer ihrer Feuershows. Es war unglaublich!

I (Jonas) worked and relaxed here in Teuchern for 1 week and it was amazing! Christian and Luise as well as René, Tabea, David, Jojo and John were all extremely kind and a joy to be around. The kids also don't have any problems with total strangers and will be even happier than they are right now when the big slide is mounted :D

… read more actually the whole project is a dream for DIY enthusiasts. Anything that can be done will be done, like building a giant wall out of natural stone or creating comfortable areas all over the place. In my time here I restored an old chest by sanding an painting it, I worked on the wall but also just let all the stress out with chopping some roots down.
I loved the enthusiasm René and Christian got about their business and catched a quick lesson about juggling for myself :D Luise is a voice coach and gave me a private lesson for singing more relaxed which was very helpful! The food was great every time and I slept very well on a comfortable mattress. Over all I really can recommend these hosts and their workaway opportunity if you want to visit Leipzig, or just to get to know some really cool people and spend your time with DIY-projects!Du kannst nur Workawayer mit aktiver Mitgliedschaft kontaktieren.

Juan startet to painted our old 100 Year old Handrail in the staircase and he did a great job.

Camilo and Jacinto are two calm kids who share toys and have no problem with strangers. Wa snice to play with them and also show them our fireshow :)
They infected now and want to be a fireperformer. We love it.

Wir wurden sehr herzlich in Teuchern aufgenommen und sind nach fast 3 Wochen mit tollen Erinnerungen im Gepäck wieder gefahren. Tausend Dank für den Shuttle-Service zum Zoo und auch vom/zum Bahnhof. Glücklicherweise hatten wir die Möglichkeit, eine der beeindruckenden Feuershows zu sehen. Absolut empfehlenswert :) Ein großes Dankeschön auch an Lysann, Milena und Ronja, die so nett ihre Spielzeuge mit unseren Jungs geteilt haben.

… read more even more inspiring once you get to see them perform and interact with fire.
About the work, we mostly did grinding. We worked on doors, doorframes and the staircase railings. We had to remove old coatings of paint and we also cleaned afterwards. They provided us with all the gear & protective wear and showed us how to use it. They let us decide when to start and when to finish the work. In addition we were also allowed to pick our own free times to relax and enjoy the small town, the fresh air and their beautiful garden.
What made the experience easy for us was the open communication, the outgoing nature of everyone and the support we were given every step of the way. We learnt that it is possible to create the life you want to have through creativity and hard work. They had the best and insane lampshades and costumes with embroidery, we have ever seen. All handmade!
We believe that anyone who wants to visit here would have a productive and adventurous time.

We spent two weeks in Teuchern in the autumn of 2023. This is a lovely town with really cute wind wheels in the countryside.
We had the opportunity to visit many nearby towns and cities with the help of the cute little red train that goes every hour/every two hours to Zeitz and to Weißenfels. When the guys were performing shows, and if they
… read more could, they also took us with them. Because of this, we had the opportunity to see their shows (which were really cool, by the way) and explore towns that we wouldn't have the time to visit otherways. They were also completely flexible about which two days a week we took off as rest days.
On the days we worked, we always discussed each morning what type of work we wanted to that day - there are always something to do, so there are also options to choose from.The work also felt like we were really doing something meaningful, and also fun, especially when we all worked on something together with the hosts. They helped with any questions and made sure we didn't work more than five hours. -In other ways too, they were more than kind, prepared amazing food for us, always asking if we wanted another cup of tea, how we were doing and if we needed anything. They really all are amazing people, always there if you want a great conversation.
