The main job was to support Julia to her everyday activities: usually I had to clean one or both stables, which took me 1/2 hours, and after finishing it I spent some time with the two kids. John is a really cute baby, but he is still a
… read more little bit to small to stay a long period of time without her mother. Paolina, instead, is very curius and she wants to spend all the time with the workawayer.
I also spent some time painting different things, such as a stable and some fornitures of the house and doing some manual jobs, like cleaning the water containers.
But the greatest thing of living in this faimily is that during all of these activities Julia always checked on me if I was fine doing that activity and if I had some questions. Comunicate with her was easy and I wouldn't have felt in trouble to say that I didn't want to do any of the things she told me to do.
I had a whole apartment for myself, where I had the chance to spend a lot of time alone. In my free days it was easy for me to visit the cities of the beautiful region where they live, since the train station was 10 min by car. There are a lot of things to see, so my free days were all full of activities.
I had also the opportunity to know Karin, the grandmother, a strong and active woman, who was curious to get to know me better. She also offered to bring me to the Baltic and the North sea, which was great since during the day we talked a lot about the cultures and the traditions of our two countries.
I was interested into having some riding lessons there, but it wasn't possible at Julia's house. However I managed to get a couple of lessons in a ranch close to her house.
In conclusion I can say that this experience was exatly what I was looking for and that I would gladly go back to that place. Thank you Julia for giving me this opportunity!Feedback

They welcomed me so warmly and really did everything to make me feel comfortable (and part of the family). I lived in my own, very bright and beautiful apartment, with horses strolling in front of my window.

… read more and the paddock, playing with their wonderful dog Willi (I really miss him and his frisbees a lot) and feeding and grooming their horses. Besides that I helped out with some other tasks around the stable, garden and house.
Although I chose to come in february, which was full of storms and rain, I still had fun at work all the time and I never felt bored. Julia, Karin and Hauke are amazing hosts, try to give you the best experience possible and always made sure I felt at home. We always had lunch together and after that we often sat down for a chat or met in the afternoon for a coffee.
