Madarao - Tangram - Nagano - Winter Season 2025 - 2026
January 2026 - February 2026
Japan Working Visa, International Driving License Required.
Stay this winter in our base ( first pictures ): A rural beautiful, traditional house in Nagano - Furumi, ( 15 Minutes drive to Madarao, 20 minutes drive to Myoko and 30 or 40 minutes to other great resort and powder places like Nozawa Onsen )
We are a mix of Spanish, Japanese, running a small / family run mountain accommodation + rental + tour guiding operations, our base house for staff and operations is in a rural community in Furumi - Shinanomachi, our apartments + chalet for guests are nearby 10 minutes away nested in beautiful and scenic mountain setup in Madarao - Tangram
We’re seeking a friendly, reliable, responsible individual for part time / paid help on the apartments, chalet, ( the pictures of the rooms are attached ), rental gear, tour errands and driving guests around resorts and stations
🌿Important
Please consider that based on the number of hours need for help ( ~ 15 or 20 / week / person ) , this is not equivalent as a regular or part time hospitality job.
🌿Tasks
- Apartment, chalet cleaning, preparation, laundry
- Snow cleaning, property, equipment maintenance
- Driving guests and material around the resorts, stations and lodge
- Ski, snowboard waxing and delivery
- Errand duties like preparing snow equipment, guest support or eventual shopping
Not a big amount of work, not every day, approximately 1 ~ 3 hours on normal days, 4 - 5 on peak days, usually 8:00 ~ 14:00 mornings and afternoon from 16:00 ~ 19:00
🌿We provide
- Scheduled and unscheduled paid work hours ( 1250 JPY before taxes )
- Part time contract based on Japan working standards
- Health Insurance
- Shared room accommodation ( 2 pp / 3 pp room arrangement ) in traditional house dedicated to staff ( Kominka )
- Transportation between staff house and the lodge in Tangram
- Shared Kei car can be used for private if available ( Upon taking care of basics like gas fees )
Please important note, the accommodation is in a private house with highly historical cultural value, and we might not be around sometimes, it is expected participants to use and keep the property clean, livable, safe shape in a good responsible manners
🌿Community
The area is very rural, very quiet with very few neighbors around, mostly covered in snow, grocery shopping, Myoko station or resort towns like Nojiriko, Madarao or Akakura is 15 ~ 20 minutes away by car, public transportation is very limited
Sometimes as a residents we are asked to participate in the the voluntary common tasks and activities within the community of people living there. our lovely neighbors are quite old and even they are still amazingly doing farming things and have all the machinery and tooling's imaginable might think of, still do everything by themselves.

Madarao is in the middle of Japan powder belt, with plenty of sports and cultural activities like Nozawa Onsen and the famous Nagano Monkey park
Our house is 2 hours communicated with Tokyo trough Iiyama station ( 30 minutes by bus from the lodge ) on bullet train shinkansen, the staff house is on better reach through Kurohime and Myoko Kogen stations ( 15 minutes away )
