  Our Retreat is a 75 acre ocean-front property, nestled in British Columbia’s old growth rainforest, only a 30 minute drive from downtown Vancouver. We offer unique short term rentals such as floatels, cottages, and much more. The property is located near Port Moody and within the Belcarra Regional Park. Since our mini resort is on a remote, water-access only property without public paved road access, we provide boat shuttle services for guests. The Retreat currently has 5 cottages, 3 mini-yachts, an RV, a beach shack, hot tubs, kayaks, paddle boards, and jet skis available for rent.

  In your free time, you can enjoy quick access to an abundance of outdoor activities including kayaking, fishing, and swimming. You can also explore the many hiking and mountain biking trails Belcarra Regional Park has to offer- right outside your back door! Do you have a green thumb? You are more than welcome to experiment with gardening and growing herbs, vegetables, and flowers. You can spend nights by a campfire at the beach shack or relaxing in the hot tub. If you ever need a getaway from the remote property, you can always head to the city and experience all of the unique attractions Vancouver has to offer.

  Arbeit

  We encourage outdoor enthusiasts to apply! Candidates with previous boating experience or any type of outdoor labor experience is an asset. However, if you do not have a boating license yet, we will be happy to cover the expenses of the course which will certify you as a licensed pleasure craft operator for life.
  
  Do you enjoy working outdoors or being on the water? Have you ever been curious to try working in the tourism and hospitality industry but do not want to be stuck working behind a desk all day? At the Retreat, you can have the best of both worlds. A typical day consists of fulfilling guest check-ins, guest check-outs, providing yard and boat maintenance, and completing supply runs when a change of scenery is needed. A “guest check-in” includes transporting guests in a pontoon boat for 5-10 minutes to the property and then using a 4-wheel ATV vehicle to transport guests from the ocean shoreline to their cottage retreat.

  Unterkunft

  We provide FREE accommodation for Workawayers. You will be residing in one of the following 2 options: an RV or a Micro Cabin. Please see below for more details.
  
  1) The RV has been completely redesigned by professional carpenters to create a luxurious and immaculate interior. It was originally purchased to be an Air BnB, but we decided to keep it for staff accommodation instead. The amenities include a comfortable double-size bed, a dining table, a large, full-size hot shower, toilet, full kitchen with a fridge/freezer, oven, stove, outdoor patio with a gas fire-pit, and BBQ. The RV is also equipped with heating as well as indoor and outdoor electricity. Please feel free to personalize the RV by hanging exterior lights or items to make you feel at home.
  
  
  2) The Micro Cabin is a small, rustic and self-contained unit with heating, electricity, a double-size bed, couch, desk, and kitchenette. The loft-style bed is comfortable and stylish with wooden beams. The kitchenette contains a mini fridge/ freezer, microwave, coffee maker, kettle, dishes, and a small sink with running water. A portable RV toilet with water flush will be provided. In addition, we can provide an outdoor, “camping” style shower with hot water and a small patio. Although the Micro Cabin does not contain a standard washroom or shower, you may access the washrooms or showers at the cottages in-between reservations or at the office.
  
  *Please note that while neither of these units have wifi, you may access wifi at either our office, the deck, and inside or nearby the cottages. Both units also have cellular reception.
  
  Wage: $18 per hour depending on experience.
