  Beschreibung

  We are a family with four children living on a beautiful 4.5-hectare finca between Lanjarón and Órgiva, in the heart of the Alpujarras in southern Spain. We currently have 3 other volunteers living with us.
  
  Our land is home to olive, almond, kaki and fig trees, a spring-fed alberca, and wide-open mountain views. We live simply and close to nature in low-impact dwellings, including yurts, wooden huts, bell tents, caravans and campers.
  
  We are looking for one volunteer to join us, who can join us during August and September, staying until the end of September.
  
  This is a particularly lively time of year on the land. There is often a lot of movement, with family, friends, visitors and different activities taking place. It is beautiful and sociable, but also very busy, so we are looking for people who enjoy being part of an active environment and are happy to notice what needs doing and lend a hand.
  
  Help Needed
  
  The work will vary from day to day and may include:
  
  Helping with household chores and general family organisation
  Cleaning, tidying and keeping communal areas in order
  Watering trees, plants and gardens
  Light work on the land
  Carrying, moving and organising things
  Small practical projects and odd jobs
  Helping with meal preparation or kitchen tasks when needed
  
  Some tasks are physical, so it is important that you are comfortable working outdoors in the summer heat and helping with practical jobs.
  
  We especially appreciate people who are responsible, flexible, practical and able to work independently once a task has been explained.
  
  Hours and Exchange
  
  The exchange is:
  
  Five hours per day
  Five days per week
  Two days off each week
  Bell tent accommodation and food are included
  
  We usually share communal meals, although there may be times when volunteers need to prepare their own meals using the ingredients we provide.
  
  Food and Lifestyle
  
  We follow a healthy and conscious way of living.
  
  All communal meals are:
  
  Vegan
  Gluten-free
  Free from refined sugar
  Caffeine-free
  
  We can also provide eggs for volunteers who would like them, but we do not provide dairy products.
  
  The land is strictly:
  
  No meat or fish
  No smoking or tobacco
  No alcohol
  No recreational drugs or marijuana
  No coffee or caffeine
  No pets
  
  Please do not bring restricted foods or substances onto the property.
  
  Accommodation
  
  Accommodation is simple and close to nature, in a bell tent or you may also come with a camper
  
  Living conditions include:
  
  Outdoor and communal living
  A shared outdoor kitchen
  Compost toilets
  Hot-water outdoor showers
  Limited solar electricity, with charging available
  No Wi-Fi, but generally good mobile coverage
  A natural, spring-fed pool for cooling down
  
  This is rustic living rather than a conventional home stay. You will be outdoors much of the time, surrounded by nature, dust, sunshine, insects, stars and the occasional mystery object that urgently needs carrying from one side of the land to the other.

  Have initiative and do not need constant supervision
  Are tidy, reliable and considerate
  Enjoy practical work and outdoor living
  Are genuinely comfortable following our food and lifestyle agreements
  Can commit for a meaningful period during August and September
  
  We cannot host smokers, pets or people who are looking for a party environment.

  We are looking for one volunteer to help with household chores, cleaning and tidying communal areas, watering plants and trees, light land work, carrying and organising things, meal preparation, and general practical jobs. The work varies from day to day, so we need someone flexible, proactive, physically capable, and comfortable working independently in a busy family and communal environment.

  We usually only go out once a week to the local market in Orgiva, and the two closest towns of Orgiva and Lanjaron are about 1-1.5 hours walking distance away. It is fairly easy to hitchike. Free days can be used to explore the neighbouring mountains (our land lies beneath the GR7 walking path), take a trip to Granada (1 hour bus ride) or the beach (1 hour car journey). There are also a few communities in the area and many interesting people.
