  About Us and Our Place
  
  We are a family with four children living on a beautiful 4.5-hectare finca between Lanjarón and Órgiva, in the Alpujarras of southern Spain.
  
  We have olive, almond, kaki and fig trees, a spring-fed alberca and beautiful views of the surrounding mountains. We live quite simply and close to nature, in yurts, wooden cabins and other alternative living spaces scattered around the land.
  
  We're currently looking for one person who can come as soon as possible and stay for 2–3 weeks, until the 24th of November.
  
  This is a quieter time of year for us. We're mostly focused on family life, so although you'll have some contact with us, you'll also have plenty of time and space to yourself.
  
  It would suit someone who enjoys being independent, spending time in nature and perhaps having some quiet time for meditation, reading or their own personal projects. We're not offering much in the way of communal activities at the moment, so it's important that you're happy with that.
  
  Help Needed
  
  Most of the help we need is with gardening, looking after the land and getting things organised. There's always something that needs doing on a finca!
  
  Depending on the day, this might include:
  
  - Gardening and caring for trees and plants
  - General maintenance and tidying around the land
  - Cleaning and organising indoor or outdoor spaces
  - Helping with some household chores
  - Moving and carrying things
  - Small practical jobs and odd projects
  
  Some of the work is physical, so you should be happy working outdoors and getting your hands dirty. Autumn here can be lovely and sunny, but it can also be chilly and rainy.
  
  We're looking for someone who is practical, reliable and happy to work independently. We'll explain what needs doing, but we really appreciate people who can take initiative and don't need someone guiding them through every little task.
  
  Hours and Exchange
  
  We ask for 4 hours of help a day, 5 days a week, with 2 days off.
  
  In exchange, we provide accommodation and ingredients for preparing your meals.
  
  Because of our family schedule, we won't be sharing meals during this period. You'll have access to a kitchen and can prepare your own food whenever it suits you.
  
  Food and Lifestyle
  
  We eat a whole-food, plant-based diet and provide vegan, gluten-free ingredients without refined sugar or caffeine.
  
  We can also provide eggs and honey if you'd like them. We don't provide dairy products, so if you want those, you'll need to buy them yourself.
  
  We do have some important rules on the land that we ask everyone to respect:
  
  - No meat or fish
  - No smoking
  - No alcohol
  - No recreational drugs, including marijuana
  - No coffee or caffeine
  - No pets
  
  Please only apply if you're genuinely comfortable with these agreements.
  
  Accommodation and Living Conditions
  
  You'll have your own space in a yurt or wooden cabin, or you're welcome to come with your own camper.
  
  Life here is quite rustic, so it's important that you enjoy simple outdoor living rather than expecting the comforts of a conventional house.
  
  We have a shared outdoor kitchen, compost toilets and hot-water outdoor showers. Our electricity comes from solar panels and is limited, although charging is available.
  
  There's no Wi-Fi, but mobile coverage is generally good.
  
  You'll be surrounded by trees, mountains, dogs, cats and plenty of fresh air. It's a lovely place to spend time outdoors, especially if you enjoy having some quiet time to yourself.
  
  Who We're Looking For
  
  Ideally, we'd love to find someone who has some experience with gardening or practical outdoor work, although a good attitude and willingness to help are just as important.
  
  You should be comfortable working on your own, taking responsibility for the tasks you're given and keeping shared spaces clean and tidy.
  
  As this is a quiet period for our family, it would particularly suit someone who is happy with their own company and doesn't need lots of social activities or interaction.
  
  We're not looking for someone who wants a party atmosphere, but rather someone who will enjoy a couple of weeks of simple living, useful work and time in nature.

  Arbeit

  We are looking for one volunteer to help with household chores, cleaning and tidying, gardening, light land work, carrying and organising things, and general practical jobs. The work varies from day to day, so we need someone flexible, proactive, physically capable, and comfortable working independently in a busy family and communal environment.

  We usually only go out once a week to the local market in Orgiva, and the two closest towns of Orgiva and Lanjaron are about 1-1.5 hours walking distance away. It is fairly easy to hitchike. Free days can be used to explore the neighbouring mountains (our land lies beneath the GR7 walking path), take a trip to Granada (1 hour bus ride) or the beach (1 hour car journey). There are also a few communities in the area and many interesting people.
