  We live in an off-grid community in northern NSW on our own 2 acre block surrounded by forests and creeks with amazing swimming spots and lots of wild life. Great for nature lovers and hikers as we’re near a number of national parks. Great for seekers of solitude who want a break from the hustle and bustle. It would also be a good opportunity for those interested in off-grid living, self sufficiency and intentional community .

  As we live on a community, there are weekly gatherings including a morning dance, working bee and community lunch and a movie night which you are welcome to join in but are optional.
  
  This house sit would suit those interested in off-grid living, self sufficiency, permaculture and intentional community.

  Arbeit

  We have 8 hens and a rooster that need attending to and a garden that might need watering depending on weather.
  Being off-grid, there are some systems that might need some introduction to familiarize yourself with, so 1 or 2 days cross-over with us would be necessary.
  We’re an hour away from the nearest shops, so a little prior planning (eg. food supplies, fuel, etc) will be required as well as one’s own transport.

  Unterkunft

  You’ll be house-sitting our small A-frame cabin, which is cosy and compact. There is an option to stay in a large, newly renovated caravan also. The kitchen is in an adjoining shelter, as is the toilet and bathroom. Being off-grid, power is provided by a solar system, as is the hot water and cooking is done on gas.
  
  We are an hour away from the nearest shops so food and fuel need to be planned before hand. Our gardens and fresh chook eggs are able to provide some of your food needs but any extra food needs to be provided by yourself

  We’re walking distance from a number of swimming holes and are surrounded by natural flora and fauna.
  There are many national parks nearby. One is right outside the community front gate. The others would require your own vehicle to access.
  The main regional centers of Warwick, Boonah and Kyogle are all approximately an hour away and offer the usual amenities as well as their own unique attractions.
  All waste needs to be taken away as we have no garbage collection.
  Off-grid systems eg. composting toilet need to be explained before hand.
  We will be contactable by phone while we’re away to answer any questions.
  We have Starlink internet access but no mobile reception (Wi-Fi calling capabilities on your phone required for regular phone calls)
  No smokers thanks
  Strictly no dogs or cats are permitted as per community policy
