Originally from San Diego, California, I’ve called Kyoto City home for 26 years. My passion lies in Japanese history and culture, and I now lead bicycle tours, giving me an intimate knowledge of the city's hidden corners. I am a long-time host who genuinely loves meeting new people, and I often remain friends with my past guests. I’m always eager to make new connections!
Tomoko
My journey began in a rural area of Kyushu, which eventually led me to Kyoto where I spent 13 years as a Kimono dyeing apprentice. Today, I apply that same focus and dedication to my work, supporting physically challenged people in achieving self-sufficiency and independence through meaningful work.
For relaxation, I enjoy swimming and cooking. I love to experiment with global fusion cuisine, specializing in dishes that creatively mix and blend the culinary elements of Japanese, Italian, and Mexican traditions.
We both love traveling, Sumo wrestling, Sake and spicy food.Arbeit
We need help with the gardening, trimming trees, picking up leaves and help around the house. We are flexible as to when you do the work. You can bunch up the work and then have free days.

It's a two bedroom house with a balcony and much sun. You would stay in your own bedroom. There's a small kitchen and living room. A bathtub, shower and washing machine.

Welcome to Kyoto, the cultural heart of Japan! For over a thousand years, this magnificent city served as the imperial capital, a history that has cemented its status as the birthplace and soul of traditional Japanese culture. It is a living museum where artisans have been mastering their craft over generations .
Kyoto is home to 17 UNESCO World Heritage Sites, These include breathtaking locations such as the iconic Kinkaku-ji (Golden Pavilion) and the serene Ryoan-ji Temple, each offering a deep dive into the nation’s religious and architectural heritage.
The city’s location is perfectly suited for regional exploration. We sit right at the center of the dynamic Kansai region, offering easy access to the vibrant modernity of Osaka and the ancient capital of Nara, famous for its friendly, free-roaming deer. Furthermore, we are uniquely positioned near the largest lake in Japan, Lake Biwa , which provides stunning natural scenery .
As a professional tour guide, I look forward to using my expertise to advise you , ensuring you gain comprehensive and insightful information on all the essential sightseeing, and cultural attractions Kyoto and its surrounding regions have to offer.Etwas mehr Information
