  Beschreibung

  We are a little family living on the beautiful danish island Bornhom. I (Tabea) am from Berlin but have been living on Bornholm since 2008, my two kids are about 13 and 11 years old.
  We bought this beautiful eco farm in 2019 and love to call it our home and life project. We have 5 islandic horses, 1 cows and her calves, about 15 chickens, 2 mini pigs, some stable cats. We spend a lot of our time with the animals and enjoy having them around us.
  Our place is an ecologic farm since the seventies. The most of the 6 hectar land is gras for having food for the animals. A little creek supports us with water, forest surrounds the pastures. It is all in all a beautiful spot we may call our home.
  A big kitchen garden keeps us busy and supports us with fresh organic vegetables and fruits. We are not selling any farmproducts but all is for selv-catering for our family and guests.
  Especially in sommertime we do have a lot of friends and guests staying at our place. So there will be heaps of possibilities for meeting other people, hanging around the fire place together, go together for a svim, enjoy the place and the rest of the beautiful island.
  The projekts you as a workaway could be included with are:
  - help with the animals, muck out the stables, collecting horse drops on the paddock.
  - making hay,
  - all kind of work connectet to the garden as mowing the lawn, preparing the vegetable patch, weed the weeds, harvest the vegetables and prepare for storing (all vegetables are for selv-catering on the farm, not for selling)
  - making and stacking wood,
  - preparing food
  - cleaning.
  Workawayers won't be helping in spaces for paying guests.
  As I am working full-time as a midwife beside my farm activities, am I not able to supply you with three meals a day.
  Workawayers are responsible for their own food, but for that they only help a maximum of 15 hours per week/adult. We decide together how the hours will be distributed, depending on needs and the workawayers' preferences.

  Bornholm is a beautiful island in the Baltic sea, giving lots of possibilities for biking, hiking, svimming, fishing, rock climbing, surfing, kayaking, horse riding...
  Not only danish people choose the island to be their home, more and more other citizens settle down and enrich the culture of the island.
  We have visitors from all over the world, som of them staying on our farm.

  Arbeit

  Most of all we need help with the gardening: prepare the soil for the season, sowing, weed the weeds, harvest, store and process the harvest.
  Tending the pastures, cleaning for horse droppings and fencing is a all year around work we will need support to. Cleaning chicken and cow stable, the latter, however, rather in the off-season.
  If you have experiences with horses you may be included in the training.
  Please bring your own working functional clothing, rain gear, closed work shoes and rubber boots, as most of the work will be outside.

  Unterkunft

  We can offer a nice stay in our train wagon, connectet to the facillities for the camping, such as kittchen and toilet (seperation toilet) and shower (outside with water since summer 2024). The wagon gives space for a little family, a couple or two-three singles. If the holiday house is not rentet out you can stay there (4 persons, warm water).
  Else we have a Glamping tent for 1-4 persons (or more if you´re a family), only during summer season.
  It is important for us that you know about and accept that you take responsibility for thourough cleaning the facilities you use and leave all the used facilities in a neat and clean condition.

  Our farm is located directly at the bike path. The beautiful bike path brings you in one direktion to the lokal grocery (1,5 km) and furher to the sea (6 ,5 km) - in the other direction to the beautiful forrest Almindingen and further around the island.
  The lokal bus brings you all over the island, dependent where you want to go the next bus stop is 0,7-1,5 km away.
  All kind of outdoor sports, all kind of culture to develop an enjoy on Bornholm. Bornholm has a school for and in general long tradition for glas and ceramic art works.
  Beautiful nature, imposing historal spots.

  You can camp with your caravan on our little camping spot, using the facillities of the camping, such as kitchen and outdoor toilet and shower (cold water).
