What can I say.... Robby arrived at a time when I was a bit tired and weary following a recent health scare and some challenging circumstances. . my property and world had become a bit overgrown and disorganised which I found very frustrating as I normally run a tight ship : ) From the moment she arrived she was incredibly upbeat and very positive
… read more and funny and quickly saw what needed to be done.
In the three weeks she was here she did a phenomenal amount of work, far more than was expected of her ..and.... she cooked incredible Italian meals, spent real quality time with my twelve year old daughter Irene and walked Sir Sean the greyhound. I also learnt so much about Italian cuisine and discovered a fantastic healthy food app she uses.
My one regret is not spending time in my violin making studio with her, something I'd promised at the beginning of her stay... she's a very talented wood carver and I wanted to show her some tips and tricks but the time went so fast that we never got around to it.
I'll happily give Robby a ten out of ten on so many levels and wish her the very best. And she's always welcome back to CoClare anytime. In her profile Robby says her favourite country is Scotland but I hope after her stay in CoClare she'll change her mind and consider Ireland as her numero uno : )
How to describe my 3 weeks with Brian? It feels like a long time has passed and, at the same time, no time at all.
The job was various (gardening, painting, digging holes in the wall using the "Cow", treasure hunting in the shed or cleaning) and enjoyable and I'm very happy with my experience.
The house is in the countryside, everything is green
… read more around it but, if you wish to do so, you can reach Ennis by walking. My room was nice, spacious, comfortable, with a beautiful view over the country and had everything that I needed. County Clare offers amazing scenery and you'll probably feel like you are living in the "lord of the rings" more than once.
That would have been enough to make it a good experience, but Brian made it great: he is an amazing guy, easy going, respectful, and such a good person!
He was always nice, polite, attentive, generous with his time and knowledge, often checking if everything was ok with me. He let me organise my days in the way that suited me best and took the time to show me some amazing places. He prepared tasty meals and made sure that I always had something that I'd like (not just edible or even tasty but something that I'd really enjoy). He was always appreciative of the things I did, either my daily task, my suggestions or the meals I cooked. I can proudly say that Brian has become an accomplished Italian chef in a very short time.
We had a few good laughs too (my fellow Italian🇮🇹, is not that it's very sunny here and the Irish 🇮🇪 really love us, because it's not a faded Italian flag that you'll see everywhere! But feel free to feel welcomed anyway🇮🇹🇮🇪) and I had the unique experience to play the banjo by opening and closing the door (I know that this sentence will not make any sense to most people but that is what happened).
Brian introduced me to friends and family and I had such a good time with his younger daughter! feeling like I was 12 y.o. again, during our Harry Potter weekend.
I never felt judged or uncomfortable, he gave me time and space.
Thank you Brian for having me, I'll treasure the memories that I made with you, Irene, Anna, Martin and Sir Sean; I am really happy that I came here.
Vom Host für Workawayer (Ilaria & Giordan)
Llaria and Giordan stayed with me for nearly two weeks in June 2022. They were very friendly and easy-going and always willing to take on whatever chores they were given. They're both artists and they used my studio to make small sculptures in their spare time which I really liked. They're both excellent cooks which was a big plus for me as they

We stayed by Brian’s place just for 10 days, but it has been very nice. The work tasks include weeding, cutting grass, cleaning a part of the house and cooking sometimes. The garden, the polytunnel and the house are very tidy, so it’s a nice environment to work and live in. I liked walking around, there are a lot of loop trails and

Brian is a calm and quiet man, and between us there was a mutual and silent understanding. The house is among serene downhills without noises around. The first day he told us what he would like to be done and left us with the freedom to choose how to spend our time. We did some gardening and house cleaning, always in a chilled mood. He allowed us to use his studio, and he let us create something with the wood (he likes artists). It was an airy experience and I (we) will miss that peacefulness. Thanks Brian!Du kannst nur Workawayer mit aktiver Mitgliedschaft kontaktieren.

This workaway was not what we expected, but we enjoyed our time here and learnt a lot about Veganism and a more natural way of living. We loved the chilled out atmosphere and varied jobs (weeding, painting, clearing). Brian was our first experience in volunteering, and we think it couldn't have been better for a first experience. Live with Brian is very easy AND very pleasant : he is listening to you, always calm and his bolognese is the best of the world (and we are not kidding you).

It was really nice to share home and meals with Brian and we can't say more : to resume 6 weeks of common life is not easy !

Matthieu & Camille were a pleasure to have as workawayers. They stayed for five weeks and transformed the garden and polytunnel working very hard even when it was raining. They were very easy going and good fun to have around the house. Camille makes amazing crepes and the best onion tart I've tasted and they have a great knowledge of good French

Vom Host für Workawayer (KerstinB)
Kerstin was a fantastic help this summer. She was more than willing to do all the tasks we asked her to do and even learned how to light the stove properly, something not everyone is able to do. I had a really nice time at Brian and Martas place.
There is always loads to do, either levelling the ground or painting the fence or helping with the polytunnel. But you have to keep in mind, that the project only started, so there's going to be a lot more work in the following summers.

Rachel is a really nice person to be with. She was willing to do everything she was asked to do with a smile and enthusiasm. Marta and Brian are so friendly and also their cute little girl! I learned a lot of farming work and experienced the relax life in countryside. Both the meal and life here are so lovely and healthy. I really have a great time here! This is the best choice if you want to experience the real Irish mixed Spanish culture.
