I came with a friend (Iris) to this fantastic place for two weeks in June. This experience was super great! We ended up in an open, warm and social environment with always something to do. Iris and I were there when there was another volunteer, we got along well! We enjoyed the beach together, the beautiful nature, the sea, the surfing ...

… read more work was 4.5 hours a day, but super flexible! I mostly painted, worked in the garden, cleaned up ... On weekends we were free.
We are already looking forward to coming back. Thanks to everyone for welcoming us so well :)
Bye bye

Overall: I thoroughly enjoyed my 2 weeks here. Between the family, the friends, the food, the work, the activities, the soirées, the conversations and the way I was treated, it ended up feeling more like a holiday than a work exchange. I would recommend this place for any kind of person.
Work: I painted the shutters and windows during my 2 weeks.
… read more I enjoyed the work, particularly because the weather was kind and painting is actually quite enjoyable when you get into it. As long as you do what's expected of you (4/5 hours/day), you're more or less free to do it how you want. I often worked from 9:30 until lunch, cycled to the beach/city and then came home and finished my work.
Accommodation & Location: I had a lovely bedroom with a double bed to myself. The house is absolutely beautiful, perched on a hill with a view out to nearby mountains and the sea. It has a big garden around it and plenty of rooms and space inside. Lots of musical instruments. A very strong point was that I could go from this complete wilderness to the centre of Biarritz or the beach in about 20 minutes by bicycle.
People: As someone who enjoys socialising and activities, I couldn't have landed in a better place. Between the 6 siblings and their mother, there's always some event or hike that you're invited to or someone else to meet. They go a long way to make you feel like you're part of the family, which I appreciated. At the same time, if you're a more reserved person, I still think you could love this place. At no point did I feel pressured to go places or meet people when I wasn't up to it.
Food: Top drawer. Catherine, the mother, is a serious cook who puts effort into every meal. She cares about what you eat when you're in the house, which for me is the mark of a good host. If you stay here, you'll eat delicious, healthy food that's often sourced locally. That said, the whole family know how to cook and know what good food is. The apples didn't fall far from the tree.Du kannst nur Workawayer mit aktiver Mitgliedschaft kontaktieren.
