Hello Workawayers! 👋
We are a friendly family living in Mae Wang, Chiang Mai, about 40 minutes from the city. Our project focuses on giving local Thai people the chance to practice real-life English conversation with volunteers from around the world. Instead of teaching from books, we create a space where people can listen, speak, and learn naturally through daily interactions.
What we love most about this project is the energy and creativity that volunteers bring. We are not looking for professional teachers—what we really want are open-minded people who enjoy talking, sharing ideas, playing games, and making conversations fun. Your role will feel more like being a friend and language buddy than a teacher.
Our place is surrounded by beautiful nature and culture:
🌿 Close to rice fields, mountains, and trekking paths
🐘 Near an elephant camp
🍲 A lively local market where we often shop for fresh food
⚽ Swimming pool, fitness center, and football field nearby
🥘 And of course—we’d love to teach you some Thai cooking!
Life here is simple, peaceful, and full of opportunities to connect with both locals and other travelers. Our family and a few local helpers will be here to support you, and we always welcome volunteers as part of our extended family.

Staying with us is more than just helping with English—it’s a true cultural exchange.
You’ll be part of our family life in Mae Wang, Chiang Mai, where you can join daily activities, visit the local market, and enjoy simple Thai countryside living. We love to share our culture, especially through Thai cooking classes, local traditions, and introducing you to community life.
During your free time, you can explore the nearby elephant camp, trekking routes, swimming pool, football field, and fitness center. We often enjoy going to the market together, cooking meals, and spending time in nature.
In return, we hope to learn from you too! Every volunteer brings something unique—new ideas, different cultures, and life stories. By speaking and spending time with you, our Thai learners gain not only English skills but also a wider perspective of the world.
We believe this exchange is about more than language—it’s about building friendships, sharing skills, and creating lasting memories together.

Arbeit
We are looking for volunteers who can help local Thai people practice English speaking and listening in a natural and fun way. Your role is not to be a formal teacher, but more like a conversation partner and cultural friend.
What you’ll be doing:
Engage in friendly conversations with Thai learners (one-on-one or small groups)
Encourage them to listen, respond, and speak with confidence
Introduce new words and phrases, and guide them with correct grammar in a relaxed way
Use your creativity to make learning enjoyable—through games, role play, or everyday topics
Share your own culture while also learning about Thai culture in return
You don’t need to prepare strict lessons or worksheets. Instead, we’ll work together to create a supportive and fun environment where English is learned through real communication.
We welcome both native and fluent non-native speakers—what matters most is that you enjoy talking, sharing, and helping others feel confident.
Along the way, you’ll also have the chance to share skills and learn from us, whether it’s cooking Thai food, exploring the local area, or joining family activities.

Unterkunft
We provide comfortable accommodation for our volunteers:
🏠 Rooms with air-conditioning, separated for male and female volunteers.
💑 If you are a couple, we offer a private fan room so you can stay together.
We provide three meals a day.
For breakfast, we offer coffee, tea, bananas, bread, and other simple items that you can easily prepare yourself.
For lunch and dinner, we will cook and serve delicious homemade Thai food for you.

Our schedule is flexible and designed to make the experience enjoyable for both volunteers and learners.
⏰ Volunteers usually help around 4–5 hours per day, 5 days per week.
🗓 Most of the classes and conversations happen in the afternoon and evening (around 3 PM – 11 PM), but you won’t be working all of those hours—normally a maximum of 6 short sessions (40 minutes each), depending on student bookings.
Sunday is a day off, so you’ll have time to relax, explore Chiang Mai, or enjoy nature in Mae Wang.
We try to arrange schedules together so that you have enough free time to enjoy cultural activities, travel, or rest. Flexibility and communication are very important for us, and we always want you to feel comfortable.
