  Hi everyone! We're Maxi and Valen. We were born in Argentina and have been living in Spain for three years. At first, we backpacked for six months through Spain and Portugal, working as workaway volunteers to support our trip. Volunteering helped us embrace this way of traveling and sharing life. We also met many people who opened their homes to us and gave us the opportunity to learn new things.
  
  In 2025, we decided to move to Asturias because we fell in love with this region during our travels. Today, we live in a village called Casiellas (Valdés) with our three cats, Panchi, Trece, and Otur. We have a small house with a vegetable garden, a flower garden, trees, and flowers. We heat our home with wood, and the views are beautiful.
  
  We want to open our doors to exchange ideas and projects. We'd like to learn more about bio-construction, gardening, composting toilets, and alternative living practices.
  
  This year we're planning to build a chicken coop, create a medicinal herb garden, a fire pit, a greenhouse, and who knows what else :).
  
  We're easygoing people, we make a little music, we enjoy good food and cooking, we love Sudoku and crossword puzzles, board games, and going for walks.

  ¡Holaaa! Somos Maxi y Valen. Nacimos en Argentina y hace tres años vivimos en España. Al principio, viajamos de mochileros durante 6 meses por España y Portugal, fuimos workawayers y así sostuvimos nuestro viaje. Haciendo voluntariados nos acercamos a esta forma de viajar y compartir la vida. También conocimos muchas personas que nos abrieron las puertas de su casa y la posibilidad de aprender cosas nuevas.
  En 2025 decidimos mudarnos a Asturias porque durante el viaje nos enamoramos de este lugar. Hoy vivimos en una aldea llamada Casiellas (Valdés) con nuestros tres gatetes Panchi, Trece y Otur. Tenemos una casita pequeña con una huerta, jardín, árboles y flores. La calefacción es a leña y las vistas son hermosas.
  
  Queremos abrir nuestras puertas para intercambiar ideas y proyectos. Nos gustaría aprender más sobre bio-construcción, jardinería, baños secos y prácticas alternativas de vida.
  
  Para este año tenemos pensado armar un gallinero, hacer un jardín de plantas curativas, un espacio para un fogón, un invernadero y quién sabe qué otras cosas más :).
  
  Somos personas tranquilas, hacemos un poco de música, nos gusta comer y cocinar rico, nos encantan los sudokus y los autodefinidos, los juegos de mesa y salir a pasear.

  Kultureller Austausch und Lernmöglichkeiten

  We are surrounded by mountains with trails and paths, an 8-minute drive from the beach and also very close to the Esva River. We live 15 minutes by car from Luarca, the largest town in our area, where you'll find bars, supermarkets, a bus station, a health center, and shops. It's very beautiful, although very touristy in the summer.
  
  On our days off, we can go out and explore other places, go hiking, have picnics, and swim in the sea. We enjoy reading, taking photos, writing, DIY projects, music, spending time with friends, learning other languages, and cooking new recipes.

  Estamos rodeados de montañas con sendas y caminos, a 8 minutos en coche de la playa y también muy cerquita del río Esva. Vivimos a 15 minutos en coche de Luarca, que es el municipio más grande de nuestra localidad en donde hay bares, supermercados, estación de buses, centro de salud y tiendas. Es muy bonito aunque muy turístico en verano.
  
  En los días libres podemos salir a conocer otros lugares, hacer caminatas, picnics y darnos chapuzones en el mar.
  Nos gusta leer, hacer fotos, escribir, hacer bricolaje, música, compartir con amigos, aprender otros idiomas y cocinar recetas nuevas.

  Arbeit

  We have a few specific projects:
  
  Chicken Coop: Building the structure and getting it up and running. People with wood and DIY skills are welcome.
  
  Also, those who know about chickens and their care.
  
  Medicinal Plant Garden: Preparing the space. Harvesting, planting, and storing medicinal plants for making tinctures and other products. The idea is to attract people who know about or are interested in the world of plants, botany, and gardening.
  
  General tasks are simple and involve maintaining the garden and vegetable patch. This also includes gathering firewood and specific tasks that may arise, such as cleaning a space.
  
  We would like to share the process of these ideas and carry them out together. Workaway participants can, of course, work independently if they wish.
  
  We believe that some tasks are part of living together. We expect that those who come to share will be willing to participate in the care and cleaning of the space.

  Tenemos algunos proyectos específicos:
  
  Gallinero: Armado de estructura y puesta en funcionamiento. Son bienvenidas las personas que tengan conocimientos en carpintería y bricolaje.
  También aquellxs que sepan de gallinas y sus cuidados.
  
  Jardín de plantas medicinales: Preparación del espacio. Recolección, siembra y almacenamiento de plantas curativas para el armado de tinturas y otros. La idea es que se sumen personas que sepan o que les guste el mundo de las plantas, la botánica y la jardinería.
  
  Las tareas generales son sencillas y tienen que ver con el mantenimiento del huerto y el jardín. También recolección de leña y cosas específicas que surjan como limpiar un espacio.
  
  Nos gustaría compartir el proceso de estas ideas y llevarlas a cabo en conjunto. Lxs Workawayers, obviamente podrán trabajar por su cuenta si lo desean.
  
  Creemos que hay tareas que forman parte de la convivencia. Contamos con que las personas que vengan a compartir estén dispuestas a participar del cuidado y la limpieza del espacio.

  Unterkunft

  It's a private room in our house with a bed, wardrobe, and desk. For couples, the desk can be removed and another bed added. The other spaces are shared; the house is small but cozy. The house is heated with a wood-burning stove, and another stove can be added for the room if needed.
  
  Meals are breakfast, lunch, and dinner. There are no set times, but we can arrange to eat/cook together. We don't have a specific diet, but we mostly eat vegetables and legumes. Sometimes we have a little meat (we're Argentinian, and we like to have barbecues).

  Es una habitación individual dentro de nuestra casa que dispone de una cama, armario y escritorio. Opcional parejas, se puede sacar el escritorio y sumar otra cama. Los demás espacios son compartidos, la casa es pequeña pero acogedora. La calefacción de la casa es a leña y se puede sumar otra estufa para la habitación de ser necesario.
  
  Las comidas son desayuno, almuerzo y cena. No hay horarios establecidos pero se pueden organizar para comer/cocinar juntos.
  No tenemos ninguna dieta específica pero si comemos mayoritariamente verduras y legumbres. A veces un poco de carne (somos argentinos, nos gusta hacer barbacoas/asados).

  From our house, you can take a bus or train to explore other places in your free time. The bus stop is about a 25-minute walk away; it's an ALSA bus. You can buy your ticket on the bus or through their app, and they run more frequently than the train. The train station is very close to the house (a 5-minute walk), and the train runs from Oviedo to Ferrol. Keep in mind that it's a slow train with limited service, but it offers beautiful views and is a pleasant ride. We also have a car available to pick you up and drop you off, provided we arrange it.

  Desde nuestra casa se puede coger un bus o un tren para conocer otros lugares en el tiempo libre. La parada de bus está a unos 25 minutos caminando, es de ALSA. Se puede comprar el ticket dentro del bus o por su app y tiene más frecuencia que el tren. La estación del tren está muy cerca de casa (5min caminando), va desde Oviedo hasta Ferrol. Hay que tener en cuenta que es un transporte lento y con pocos horarios pero tiene unas vistas hermosas y es un buen paseo. También tenemos coche para recogerte y llevarte siempre que lo organicemos.
