  Beschreibung

  We are Giulia and Kevin.
  
  We lived abroad for a few years and moved to Sicily at the end of 2024. Giulia is originally from Sicily and, while she hated it until her teenage years, like many Sicilians, around 27 she started missing her homeland and the sun. She loves nature, swimming in the sea, warm water, crafting, and self-production. Kevin is Italo-Polish and comes from Umbria, the green heart of Italy. In the Nebrodi area, he found the right amount of greenery and mushrooms to settle down. He is a computer engineer who loves music, traveling, sprouting mango seeds, and mowing the land. Currently working remotely, we are passionate about a sustainable lifestyle and exploring alternative ways of living, with the aim of achieving self-sufficiency.
  If you join us, you will see Berta, Bolek and Bella wandering around the land (our dogs).
  
  The project:
  
  In April 2026, we bought a property with 1.6 hectares of land. Originally, it only had olive trees, but we plan to increase biodiversity as much as possible, create a food forest that provides a harvest throughout the entire year, plant seasonal gardens, and take care of our future bees and chickens. We want to explore different techniques of regenerative agriculture to preserve and increase soil fertility while producing our own food.
  
  Beyond agriculture, the project also has educational and social purposes. In the future, we want the land to become an educational center where people can observe and understand how each element contributes to the balance of a healthy agroecosystem.
  
  Lastly, we would like to offer sustainable tourism that allows visitors to reconnect with nature and experience a rural lifestyle.

  Was ist das?

  Kultureller Austausch und Lernmöglichkeiten

  We are in the countryside, close to the Nebrodi Park, the ideal place to immerse in the nature and observe flora and fauna of this territory.
  
  We are happy to prepare pizza and bread and cook it together in a wooden oven, as well as cooking other traditional Italian/Sicilian meals. We love self-production, as we time to time produce cosmetics and cleaning products. We also like to preserve our harvest using different techniques, such as fermentation, fruit preserve, dehydration.
  Music is one of our passions. Kevin plays the guitar and Giulia can sing, we are more then happy to play something together :)
  
  Lastly, we are excited to learn something from your culture, language (maybe we could refresh our French or Flemish or Polish?) and traditions.

  Arbeit

  We are looking for help with gardening (take care of seasonal garden, planting fruit trees for the orchard, making compost, pruning the trees, pick olives), small woodworking projects, and household chores.
  
  We might be partially present during the activities from Monday to Friday. We will be fully present on the weekend.

  Unterkunft

  We offer single or shared room with sea view on Aeolian Islands.
  
  We will provide 3 meals a day (fruit and snacks will be available if you'll be hungry between the main meals). Please let us know if there are any dietary requirements: we are more than happy to accommodate your needs (e.g. vegan, vegetarian, gluten free diet). Meals can be prepared by the hosts or together with the volunteers (if this is something appreciated :))
