We are a backpacker's sanctuary in the heart of Chinatown, Kuala Lumpur. Willi opened the doors in 2009 and thousands of travelers have passed through since. Our Guesthouse is a labour of love. It is a safe and welcoming place for travelers to relax and meet like-minded people.
Are you a citizen of the world? Are you looking for a place to meet other fellow travelers? Then this is your call! Come on board and share your stories, talents and passions. We are trying to build a welcoming community for travelers to enjoy a home away from home.

We run a guesthouse dealing with backpackers. Hospitality and creating a good vibes for our guest
First of all, you should know that this is not a job opportunity, instead we welcome you as an active member of our family!
We prefer if you stay for at least 2 weeks. That allows us to really get to know each other and make this experience not only about the help but also about the cultural exchange, making it more meaningful. It is very important for us that you have the chance to immerse yourself in the day to day of our beloved project. We are a small guesthouse with 10 rooms only and we have 2-3 permanent staff depending on season. if you have only a month for traveling, we would not encourage instead you should have fun traveling and this is from experience of many 'no show', it affects our schedule. We also had once failed to host a volunteer at the early stage in our workaway program when we wasn't organize and accepted too many volunteers resulting in not enough beds available, she was very disappointed and ever since we never fail to accept volunteers we agree to host again.
We have a rooftop that has hosted 2 - 4 events weekly for the last 2 months and as a result have created a small community of backpackers and travelers to kick their feet up. These have ranged from open mic nights, jam nights, AcroYoga jams, tango dancing to our weekly game of poker.
If you have a skill, talent, are creative or can perform and want to share you skills we are ALWAYS looking for talent to enrich the hostel. We have a stage, a small in house PA and plenty of space to suit most performances and workshops and would love to support your craft in return.
We are looking for vibrant people than can help us create an awesome and interactive environment. Some of the things we need help with are:
- Reception (Checking guests in/out, managing bookings & emails)
- Help clean rooms
- Paintwork / Mural design
- Marketing / Social Media
- Small renovation work
- Organizing events
- Interior Design
- Performance Artists
And even though we have a list of ideas we'd like to make happen, we are always open to suggestions and we encourage you to have initiative and bring your own flair to our nest!
We don't mind couples, but some of the activities require only one person, so we hope you don't mind to be split up.
We require 5 hours a day/5 days a week of help in exchange for:
- Accommodation in one of our rooms with a shared bathroom/shower.
- Full equipped kitchen.
- Free tea and coffee.
- Wifi all over the guesthouse.
- Two free days for every week of work.
- One meal a day.
We are located right in front of Pasar Seni, where you can take buses to many places around the city. We are close to most of the major tourist attractions. The Petronas towers are in walking distance and China town is a couple of blocks away. Volunteers can use their free time to visit some of this places:
- Islamics Arts Museum
- Botanical Garden
- Kuala Lumpur Bird Park
- National Mosque
- Petronas Tower
- Bukit Bintang
- Chow Kit
- Little India
- Enjoy the amazing (and cheap) food around the area.
Or just chill out and chat with other staff members and guests.
