We are a couple that escaped to Wales; Ian and Tina Roberts. We bought a small cottage and 2 acres of land which all needs doing up! Our four kids have grown up, have moved all across England for work and university but regularly drop in to help out.
We are based in a small village, Llanybri, just 2 miles from Llansteffan. This is the forgotten corner of Wales with the most stunning coastal walks and castles. We are close to so many beautiful areas of wales to explore and also 8 miles from the excellent market town of Carmarthen with all the major shops, cinema etc.

Weave your way into typical welsh village life. Enjoy the surroundings, work on the land to recover it back to where it was a few years ago, enjoy the community and learn practical skills whilst enjoying all that Wales has to offer on your doorstep.
Everything to do with land clearing. Are you handy with a chainsaw? We've got trees to get chop up, fences to lay and soakaways to build. Many, many gardening tasks. Are you independent, able to make decisions and get on. Can you work safely with machinery and on a quad bike. Are you OK with three friendly dogs that will want to follow you everywhere?

The village is well served by a local bus into Carmarthen and surrounding area. The main train line from London also serves Carmarthen. The list of attractions nearby is endless, many outstanding walks on beaches and hills. Castles: Kidwelly, Llanstefan, Laugharne, Carreg Cennen and Dryslwyn. The National Botanical garden is within a 30 minute drive. The beautiful coastal towns of Saundersfoot, Tenby and Llandeilo are also within 30 minutes. You only have to VisitWales online to read the list of places to see and festivals to take part in.
Ian works full time but I am around all day. Help us with strimming, chainsawing and all jobs outside alongside keeping our village hall up together. We eat together in the evenings and our weekends are full of hard work but loads of good company.
