  We are employing 8 local tour guides who partly are not able to read or write. For the organization and customer contact (which mainly is in English language) we are looking for volunteers.

  Our social business is offering tours on the beach in El Paredón (Guatemala):
  turtle & salt farm tour, mangrove fishing tour, a local cooking class, open sea fishing and a homestay with a local family ✨
  We only work with local guides and support the secondary school ❤️
  This social business has been coming up after the old NGO has closed its doors one year ago. The NGO was running for about 12 years; so we already have a lot of experience with hosting and working with volunteers! Now we needed a new workaway account because the NGO has closed its doors.

  What we love most about our project is the mix of showing the beauty of El Paredon to travelers but being involved in the local community at the same time! PLUS: We are supporting the local secondary school with our business!
  So this is definitely the chance to practice your Spanish skills (we are in need of an intermediate level of Spanish) and to explore Guatemalan culture in depth...

  Arbeit

  We are looking for:
  - 1,5 months availability (or longer)
  - ⁠fluent English, intermediate Spanish
  - ⁠organizational skills: customer contact via what’s app/Instagram plus meeting up with tourists to organize the tour
  - ⁠some work on Instagram: regular stories, posts etc.
  - BIG PLUS: content creator, photographer, someone who LOVES to cook;-)

  Unterkunft

  private or shared room (depending the time of the year & availability) including a private bathroom, shared kitchen.
  
  We will offer a food allowance so that volunteers can buy (and prepare) their own food.

  Was noch ...

  The minimum stay would be 1,5 months; the longer the better and maybe you would even like to stay at the beach for the whole year? Everything is possible!
  
  On top, we are planning a yoga/surf retreat end of March in El Paredón: You could be involved in the organisation etc. as well, if you like. Another beautiful experience next to the beach, tours etc.
