We are a family-run hostel in Moyogalpa, Ometepe, a beautiful volcanic island on the Nicaragua Lake
Life here is simple, the towns are small and cozy and nature is all around. The main attractions on the island are the two volcanos Madera and Concepcion which take up most of the area and landscape. You can hike up to their top or, simply observe their beauty!
The hostel is located at the heart of Moyogalpa, the port town of the island and also the biggest. Most restaurants and services are here, so it is a good place to explore the island and not be far from all the necessities (supermarket, ATM, gym, ...)
At the moment, I and my sister are running the place with three employees from Nicaragua: Tony at reception and bar, Carolina cleaning and washing, and Martin guarding at night. They are great people, very welcoming and friendly. Assured you will feel at home!
We are from Quebec, Canada, and have had this establishment for some time now, it was started by our dad many years ago, managed by our brothers, and for the last few years, us! This place is very special to us and we want to keep it running and prospering. A pair of hands is always very welcomed and appreciated!
So we would love some help with repetitive daily tasks that could free us time to work on other aspects of the hostel
We are looking for volunteers that could stay minimum one month.

Ometepe island is a tropical paradise, you have a lot to explore here: the volcanos, river, waterfalls, beach, ...
There is yoga and spiritual activities happening nearby which we can highly recommend too!

We are looking for help in maintenance of the place, at the reception and welcoming guests; social media managing (to post a few times a day) and some things that might come up like making signs or painting.
It would be great if you are open minded for what might be needed in the moment, but these are the main things!

We offer a bed and a fan in a dorm.
When we are not full, we can provide a private room with its own bathroom and fan.
