  Description
  here, we work in the artisan production of dairy products and in natural and assisted regeneration processes, through the isolation of spaces, the planting of trees, and the agroecological production of vegetables. You will help us cut grass, prepare the land with hand tools to plant trees and vegetables, harvesting fruits and vegetables for processing and construction activities. We also appreciate the support in the study and systematization of flora, fauna, and fungi in the area.
  
  Details of the experience here
  We are located in Macanal - Boyacá, 12 km from the urban center of the municipality in the village of Agua Blanca Grande. Our farm is a relatively difficult place to access, since the access road (2 km) is quite steep, so it can only be reached by motorcycle or camper, on foot, or on horseback. We are in the middle of the reserve areas (Regional Integrated Management Districts - DRMI -) of "el varal" and "Guanaque" so contact with forests and nature, in general, is quite easy, the surrounding community is purely peasant, friendly and cordial people. On Saturday or Sunday, activities are organized with the volunteers such as visits to the embalse la esmeralda, the experience of making baked goods with neighbor farms, trails in the area, Macanal, Guateque or Garagoa tour. Some of these activities may have costs related to third-party services or the farm.
  
  During volunteering, people can learn about milking, agroecology, and the production of some dairy products.
  
  Description of the volunteer profile and work program.
  We seek to share with lovers of nature and the countryside, for us that is the fundamental thing, we are flexible in terms of experience and ability for field activities, but it is important to say that some activities occasionally require physical effort (eg moving the compost, preparing the soil). In any case, it is possible to generate a work plan that fits the profile of the volunteers and the diverse needs of the farm and our projects.
  
  We try to accompany the volunteers in most field activities and to generate planning spaces so that we are all clear about our responsibilities. We are willing to give information and guidance on tourist activities in the area, we also organize some community or friends activities so that volunteers can learn and integrate more with the local culture.
  
  Activities and turns:
  We have a single shift that goes from 7:30 am to 12:30 pm:
  1. make breakfast or wash dishes
  2. change the water in chicken feeders
  3. Garden and farm activities (some of the following activities: turning compost, preparing the soil, harvesting, planting trees, fixing fences, making seedlings, cutting cane, supporting cane milling)
  4. Construction activities (some of the following: painting, supporting cabin construction, house adjustments)
  5. make lunch or wash the dishes.
  
  Rules:
  1. We respect the use of hallucinogenic drugs but we suggest responsible use on the farm so that the effects do not interfere with coexistence or work activities.
  2. On the farm we live in a humble way and we try to consume responsibly, we ask to make responsible use of water, gas, electricity, and food.
  3. The toilet of common spaces is shared, these are the bathroom, kitchen, and living room.

  - trabajamos en la elaboración artesanal de lácteos y en procesos de regeneración natural y asistida, a través del aislamiento de espacios, la siembra de árboles y la producción agroecológica de hortalizas. Nos ayudarás picando pasto, preparando la tierra con herramientas manuales para sembrar árboles y hortalizas, cosechando frutas y verduras para su transformación y en actividades de construcción, también valoramos el apoyo en estudio y sistematización de flora, fauna y funga de la zona.
  
  Detalles de la experiencia -
  Nos ubicamos en Macanal - Boyacá, a 12 km del casco urbano del municipio en la vereda Agua Blanca Grande, nuestra finca es un lugar de acceso relativamente difícil, ya que la vía de acceso (2km) es bastante inclinada por lo que solo se llega en moto o campero, a pie o a caballo. estamos en medio de las áreas de reserva (Distritos regionales de manejo integrado - DRMI -) de “el varal” y “Guanaque” por lo que el contacto con bosques y naturaleza en general es bastante facil, la comunidad alrededor es netamente campesina, gente amable y cordial. El sábado o domingo se organizan actividades con los voluntarios tales como: visitas al embalse la esmeralda, experiencia de amasijos en finca amiga, senderos la yesera, los arrayanes, recorrido Macanal, Guateque o Garagoa. Algunas de estas actividades pueden tener costos relacionados con servicios de terceros o de finca
  
  Durante el voluntariado las personas pueden aprender sobre ordeño, agroecología, y elaboración de algunos derivados lácteos.
  
  Descripción del perfil de voluntaria o voluntario y programa de trabajo:
  Buscamos compartir con amantes de la naturaleza y el campo, para nosotros eso es lo fundamental, somos flexibles en el tema de experiencia y habilidad para actividades de campo, pero es importante decir que algunas actividades ocasionalmente requieren de esfuerzo físico (ej. mover el compost, preparar suelo). En cualquier caso es posible generar un plan de trabajo que se acomode al perfil de los voluntarios y a las necesidades diversas de la finca y nuestros proyectos.
  
  Tratamos de acompañar a los voluntarios en la mayoría de actividades de campo, y de generar espacios de planificación para que todos tengamos claras nuestras responsabilidades. Estamos dispuestos a dar información y orientación sobre actividades turísticas en la zona, también organizamos algunas actividades comunitarias o de amigos para que los voluntarios puedan conocer e integrarse más con la cultura local.
  
  Actividades y turno:
  tenemos un único turno que va de 7:30 am a 12:30 pm:

  2. cambiar agua de bebederos gallinas
  3. Actividades de huerta y finca (algunas de las siguientes actividades: voltear compost, preparar suelo, cosechar, sembrar árboles, arreglar cercas, hacer almácigos, cortar caña, apoyar molienda de caña)
  4. Actividades de construcción (algunas de las siguientes: pintar, apoyar construcción cabaña, adecuaciones casa)
  5. hacer almuerzo o lavar la loza.
  
  Reglas:
  1. Respetamos el uso de drogas alucinógenas pero sugerimos hacer uso responsable en la finca para que los efectos no interfieran en la convivencia ni en las actividades de trabajo.
  2. En la finca vivimos de manera humilde y tratamos de consumir de manera responsable, pedimos hacer uso responsable de agua, gas, electricidad y alimentos.
  3. El aseo de espacios comunes se comparte, estos son: baño, cocina, sala de estar.

  On this farm, you can learn about natural ecological farming methods, taste natural fermentations, experience Colombian campesino culture, live a common farm lifestyle that includes tasks such as preparing sugar cane and butchering chickens, and live in a lovely subtropical mountain climate.
  
  Sharing food culture experiences will surely be a focal point of the stay. Cooking and eating together, connecting, sharing music and art, solitude, time for self-reflection, and abundant tranquility, but also exploring the land and sharing stories is part of the experience.

  Volunteer/Food
  5 hours of volunteering per day Monday to Friday. The farm day commences between 8 and 9 am, with breakfast beforehand, lunch tends to be around noon or 1 pm and the rest of the day is free for the volunteer guest to relax, explore, or connect.
  
  Cooking is shared, and dinner tends to be light. Meat, vegetables, fruits, and whole grains are consumed and sometimes fasts are had but that is not something anyone else needs to partake in.
  
  What we will be doing
  Depending on the skills, interests, education, etc of the volunteer guest there will be opportunities for gardening, building, fixing fences, reforesting, and activities related to plant identification, hiking trails, painting, and more. Jorge mostly cares for the animals but if there is interest to learn anything the opportunity and willingness to share is there.

  Stay/Basic care
  Two volunteers or a couple are accepted at this time. They will have a private bedroom on a full mattress. A load of laundry is done every day and the clothes are hung to dry. There is one bathroom with a water heater, so warm water is available. Please bring your own body care--if there are products available that we produced on the farm those will be available for purchase, with a free sample to try it out if so desired.

  The available transport includes a taxi which can cost 30,000 Colombian pesos from town to a specific drop off/pick up point that is 2km from the farm. The road to the farm is downhill and rocky , just not apt for cars without 4-wheel drive, very lovely otherwise. There is a motorcycle on the farm for emergency travel or if there's a desire to go into town. If there's room on the motorcycle the volunteer is welcome to join.

  El transporte disponible incluye un taxi que puede costar 30.000 pesos colombianos desde el pueblo hasta un punto específico para dejar/recoger que está a 2 km de la finca. El camino a la finca es cuesta abajo y rocoso , no apto para automóviles sin tracción en las 4 ruedas, muy bonito por lo demás. Hay una motocicleta en la finca para viajes de emergencia o si hay un deseo de ir a la ciudad. Si hay espacio en la motocicleta, el voluntario puede unirse.
