We are an Italian-Spanish family of one mum, one 13 years old little girl, one 9 years old kid and 2 cats. We live in Ciudadela, a village of Menorca, Balearic Island, Spain. Ciudadela is a little jewel in this marvellous mediterranean island, declared World Heritage and Biosphere Reserve; and it's a privilege to enjoy the village and the island out of the typical touristic circuits. Our house is beautiful and central. I'm an illustrator and muralist, and I also work in an Art Center. We love music, nature, animals, beaches, good humour and playing together. We are basically vegetarian and exceptionally we eat meat or fish.

Somos una familia ítalo-española, compuesta por una mamá, una chica de 13 años, un niño de 9 y dos gatos. Vivimos en Ciudadela, una aldea de Menorca, Islas Baleares, España. Ciudadela es una pequeña joya en esta maravillosa isla mediterranea, declarada patrimonio de la humanidad y reserva de la biosfera; y poder disfrutar de la aldea y de la isla fuera de los circuitos turísticos es un privilegio. Nuestra casa es muy bonita y centrica. Yo soy ilustradora y muralista, y trabajo también en un centro de arte. Nos gusta mucho la música, la naturaleza, los animales, las playas, el buen humor y jugar juntos. En casa comemos basicamente vegetariano y a veces, excepcionalmente, carne y pescado.

In this exchange you will be able to practice and perfect your Spanish or your Italian (we will always speak the language for which you have come). You will be able to get to know Menorca, its nature, beaches, culture and gastronomy, as an insider and outside from the tourist circuits. You will be able to meet locals as well as tourists. Outside of working hours, you will have all your freedom and independence, unless you prefer to do activities with us, in which case you will always be welcome. If you want, there is a bike for you.

En este intercambio podrás practicar y perfeccionar tu español o tu italiano (hablaremos siempre el idioma para él que has venido). Podrás conocer Menorca, su naturaleza, sus playas, su cultura y su gastronomia, de primera mano y fuera de los circuitos turísticos. Podrás conocer a lugareños, así como turistas. Fuera de los horarios de trabajo, tendrás toda tu libertad e indipendencia, al no ser que prefieras hacer actividades con nosotros, en ese caso serás siempre bienvenida. Si quieres, tendrás una bici para ti.
Arbeit
We are looking for a young, motivated and cheerful girl (18-28 years old) who can take care of our children, in Spanish or Italian:
-- Tuesday and Thursday + Friday and Saturday alternate (one week yes and one week no): taking care of the kids from 17h to 22h (I work) -- taking care of them, playing with them, dinner -- from waking up until 17h is free
-- Wednesday + Friday and Saturday when there are no kids: cooking for lunch and dinner --- except from preparing food, the day is free (you can cook all in once so you have the rest of the day free)
-- Sunday and Monday: free days

It makes a total of 4-5h with the kids (I think cooking days take less time), 5 days per week.

You have to like kids company in general. Taking care of the children means playing with them, doing creative activities, cooking if necessary, taking them to the beach (driving license required, you can use my car for this). The kids are grown and autonomous, but they need orientation and support in the activities and preparation of meals or snacks.

Estamos buscando a una chica joven, motivada y alegre (18-28 años) que pueda ocuparse de los niños en español o italiano y cocinar. Exactamente:
-- martes y jueves siempre + viernes y sábado alternados (una semana si y otra no) : estar con los niños de 17h a 22h (yo trabajo) -- cuidar de ellos, jugar, hacerles la cena --- desde despertar hasta las 17h libre
-- miércoles + los viernes y sábados que no hay niños: cocinar mediodía y cena --- a parte la preparación de las comidas, el día es libre (te puedes organizar para prepararlas en una vez y tener el resto del día para ti)
-- domingo y lunes: días libres

Hace un total de 4-5h con los niños (creo que los días sin niños, de cocina, se tarda menos), 5 días a la semana.

Te tienen que gustar los niños en general. Ocuparse de los niños quiere decir jugar con ellos, hacer actividades creativas, cocinar si hace falta, llevarles a la playa (se necesita carné de conducir, podrá utilizar mi coche para llevarles). Los niños son grandes y autónomos, pero necesitan orientación y apoyo en las actividades y preparación de las comidas o meriendas.

Preferimos que los niños hablen su idioma (español e italiano) y que la chica que buscamos hable ya uno de estos idiomas o quiera perfeccionarlo. Es necesario que tenga un nivel del idioma suficiente para comunicarse y reírse con los niños. Yo puedo hablar también inglés, francés y portugués. We prefer that the kids can speak their own language (spanish or italian) and that the girl who is coming will speak one of them or practice and perfect it. It's necessary that you have at least a level of language good enough to communicate and laugh with the kids. I can speak also english, french and portugues.
Unterkunft
Our house is quite spacious and bright, it has 2 patios and it's located at 50 m from the old town in a normally calm and quiet street. You will stay in the kid's room with my 13 daughter (the little one will sleep with me), unless this is a problem for you and we can talk about it. This room is very large and has a lot of light. A girl comes to clean every week, but during the other days we all collaborate to keep the house tidy and clean.
We have 2 cats, they are very friendly and polite, but you have to be willing to live with them.
We ask that you are not a regular smoker and accept a flexitarian diet (meat and fish in very few times).

Nuestra casa es bastante espaciosa y luminosa, tiene 2 patios y está a 50 m del casco antiguo en una calle normalmente tranquila y silenciosa. Podrás alojarte en el cuarto de los niños, compartiendo con Maia de 13 años (Leo, el pequeño dormirá conmigo), al no ser que esto sea un problema para ti, lo podemos hablar. Esta habitación es muy grande y tiene mucha luz. Viene una chica a limpiar cada semana, pero durante los demás días colaboramos todos para mantener la casa ordenada y limpia.
Tenemos 2 gatos, son muy amables y educados, pero hay que estar dispuestos a convivir con ellos.
Pedimos que no seas fumadora habitual y que aceptes una dieta flexitariana (la carne y el pescado en contadas veces).

Menorca offers many possibilities for activities in nature: from incredible beaches, walking/mountain-bike/horseback hikes along the famous Camí de Cavalls (which surrounds the entire island), to sea experiences on boats, kayaks, surf, paddle surf, etc. .
It has several places of cultural interest, Talayotic villages (the island's prehistoric times), historic buildings, museums of local culture and the new Hauser & Wirth Art Center.
There are many buses connecting Ciudadela to Mahón, passing through other villages. But to go to the beaches you have to go by bike or car.
You will have a bike all for you and we may consider offering you our car from time to time.

Menorca ofrece muchas posibilidades de actividad en la naturaleza: desde playas increibles, excursiónes a pié, mountain-bike o caballo a lo largo del famoso Camí de Cavalls (que rodea toda la isla), hasta experiencias en barcos, kayak, surf, paddlesurf etc.
Tiene varios lugares de interés cultural, aldeas talayoticas (la época pre-historica de la isla), edificios históricos, museos de cultura local y el nuevo Centro de Arte Hauser & Wirth.
Hay autobuses que conectan Ciudadela y Mahón, pasando por otras aldeas. Pero para ir a las playas hay que ir en bici o coche.
Tenemos una bici toda para ti y podemos considerar ofrecerte nuestro coche de vez en cuando.
