  We have 5 children, all adults, 2 grandchildren, with only 2 daughters currently living with us. Neither of us work outside the home at present. We are a close knit family with emphasis on family time. We recently moved from Red Deer to an older property with plenty of opportunity for improvement. Some projects we would like assistance with are building a fence for chickens, putting windows in the Solarium, and basic garden and yard maintenance.

  We live in the heart of a warm rural farming/ranching community with rich Danish/Icelandic cultural history and traditions. Our hobbies include gardening, flying (owners of a cessna), time with family, reading, travelling, etc. Other interesting places nearby are the renowned Royal Tyrell Museum of Paleontology, Rocky Mountains, Lakes, historical museums, etc.

  Our acreage is a peaceful, quiet, and secluded, well-treed acreage, with a large variety of birds, other wildlife like deer, moose, foxes being seen in our yard. A pond with a fountain adds therapeutic atmosphere in the yard. One of the main features of our home is the solarium integrated into it with a second pond and fountain with fish and many plants. There are both indoor and outdoor fireplace stoves. Sleeping arrangements could be in the guest bedroom on main floor or in the large 32' motorhome if preferred. In regard to food, guests would have full access to the kitchen where they could prepare their own breakfast and lunch, with supper prepared by the host family. Our diet is largely focused on fresh local produce and meat and natural whole foods, with vegetarian and/or dairy-free options available.

  we are half an hour from the city of Red Deer with all amenities, heritage ranch, rec centers, green spaces, a long river, walking and cycling paths. The cities of Calgary and Edmonton are just 1.5 hours away. Just 25 minutes to the north is the city of Sylvan Lake which is a water recreation destination and we are also 15 minutes from Glennifer Lake, a less busy and clean lake. Banff and Canmore are 2.5 hours to the west. There is no transit from here, but we have 4 drivers and 3 vehicles to help facilitate travel and we make frequent trips to Red Deer or Sylvan.
