  Welcome to a small, queer women-owned beachfront wellness retreat on the wild Oaxaca Coast Mexico. Hi, Im Kameko a yogi, surfer, ayurvedic practioner and founder of this project. We are looking to motivated and health minded folks to help us on carpentry projects, admin tasks, gardening and general maintenance.
  
  This place sits on a private stretch of beach along the Oaxacan Coast, about a 30-minute drive south of Puerto Escondido. We're within walking distance of the next small town, with intermediate surf breaks right out front, a turtle sanctuary nearby, and whales passing offshore. We offer yoga classes which volunteers can take throughout the week. It's a quiet, low-key place, and we're looking for good, reliable help to keep building it out.
  
  We are honored we have so much interest in our location! Due to the high volume of interest we have a very specific list of skills and volunteers we are looking for and how we structure our program. Please read our "help" section to make sure you are a good fit! And note the different help needed and accommodations depending on season.

  In exchange for your help, you'll have a beautiful place to call home — beach access, ocean views, and a quiet stretch of the Oaxaca coast to enjoy on your time off. You're welcome to join the yoga classes we offer 2-3x per week.
  This is not a party spot — we don't drink or do drugs here, and we're looking for calm, reliable people who feel at home with that.
  Ideally, you're a surfer with real skills in carpentry, building, or computer admin. Mexican nationals and spanish speakers preferred especially with cars. Surfers, spanish speakers, queers and yogis/fitness folks to the front!

  Arbeit

  You'll be part of our small team while you're here — we share meals, and I check in regularly so the work stays aligned with what you're good at. If you fit a skill please send us a message. We will offer a call if its a good fit to discuss, please make sure to make your call time or communicate any changes to be considered.
  
  Carpentry- We're especially hoping to find a surfer with real carpentry or building skills (especially in low season)
  
  Otherwise we're open to good, reliable volunteers in these four areas:
  
  Garden & Permaculture — general upkeep and landscaping of the grounds and gardens across the property.
  
  Building & Woodwork — building storage shelving, cabinets, and freestanding closets with doors throughout the property, plus one or two office desks. We need someone who already has real carpentry or woodworking experience and can lead this work independently — not a beginner-friendly project.
  
  Computer help & Admin — replying to inquiries about our various offerings, general computer-based problem-solving, and admin support like organizing outreach lists, updating spreadsheets and trackers, and basic content scheduling.MUST have your own computer.
  
  Retreat/event assistance- During high season (Oct-April) we are looking for volunteers who can assist during yoga retreats and events, setting up the yoga studio in the morning and evening. Volunteers can participant in classes and activities based on the instructors discretion. Access to kitchen and meals during retreats , lodging in tents. Folks with cars could do airport pick ups and chores.
  
  Ideally, you're a surfer with real skills in carpentry, building, or computer admin. Mexican nationals and spanish speakers preferred especially with cars.

  Unterkunft

  Low season From May-Sept : We offer our high end beach front accommodations in our main house. The room has 2 beds for up to 2 volunteers and a bathroom downstairs. For skilled and long term work we might be able to offer private rooms with ensuite bathrooms in low season. Access large pool, communal kitchen, huge yoga deck/exercise platform, and private beach access next to surfing beach (intermediate/advanced wave in the summer, water is strong here!). Meals are included and kitchen access. I was a professional chef once so you'll eat well, healthy ayurvedic inspired meals. Brunch/dinner provided. early breakfast and lunch self serve. Please note this area of the world is hot and humid. Summer is rainy season and surf season. The private bungalow rooms have fans and screens and stay very cool, there is an AC room in the house we usually use for an office if doing admin work. Please do not apply if you afraid of bugs , rain or getting dirty!
  
  High season from Oct-April : We offer camping accommodations in our shaded garden area next to the beach. We provide tents and hammocks. Access to the yoga deck, kitchen, yoga deck bathrooms and yoga deck kitchen/living area with epic views. When there is space we offer access to the large pool and communal areas of the main house. We provide a kitchen for self cooking and access to community meals when there are retreats and groups. Please do not apply if you afraid of bugs or getting dirty!
