Beschreibung
A couple of years ago I have been a traveler in Latin America using Workaway myself - it was such a great experience to connect with families and other volunteers, 7 months in my life which I will never forget. Now, roughle 40 years old, I changed the sides, having a house on my own, an amazing wife and a wonderful 2-year-old son - not to forget our little cat.
We´re situated in a small village surrounded by forest, cows and deer, but just an hour away from the German financial capital, Frankfurt am Main in the middle of Germany.
We love cooking (even making sausages on our own), playing music, caring for our house and garden and of course having fun with our toddler. Join us for small DIY projects to make our home even more cozy and welcoming :-)

We can help with learning German, provide guidance on how to explore our forests or the cities around us best (Frankfurt, Würzburg, Aschaffenburg...) and take you to local traditional festivities. We love southern Bavaria and the Alps, even if it is some distance away. You can aquire basic carpenter skills and - if you want - make your own "Bratwurst" (sausage for barbecue). Would you bring us a nice recipe from your home country?

Arbeit
A house always has something to be improved. Refreshing the paint of our sons play house or the small garden lodge, clearing our "jungle" on the side of our property or for those who want to workout: theres wood to be cleaved ;-) All DIY projects with no special skills required (being handy won´t hurt, of course), available from easy housework to a bit heavier lifting. The workshop is well equipped, skills will be taught, just the time collides with the job sometimes. Even just playing with the kid would be helpful at some time and if that would fit best to you.

Unterkunft
You´ll have your own big room and small bathroom with shower, all quite new, nice and clean. Three meals can be shared with the family, usually breakfast is small, lunch practical (cold) and dinner warm. We eat meat, but not daily, so vegetarian and sometimes even vegan is possible.

Depending on our work schedule we can drive you closer to Frankfurt or Würzburg once a week, public transport is available just a few steps down the street.
Apart from everything said above, we´re a rather "normal", open minded, small family, happy to share our home with you to provide you a short break in your journey and a jump off to some of the "must-see"s in the middle of Germany!
