Please get in touch with us at any time to make plans for your visit for the year ahead.
We are an English couple seeking a little help with developing our garden and some easy projects around our home.
We are Chris and Chrissie husband and wife, living near Llocnau in the Valencia region on the Costa Blanca in Spain.
This area is very pretty with lots of Orange groves, and the local people are very warm and welcoming too.
In return for your help, we offer good food and wine, an enjoyable experience and fun and friendship.
The chores are not too hard and tasks are varied with something to suit all. We would love to hear from people with decorating building or gardening experience but this is not essential. We are more interested in those who are willing and helpful who mix in well and want to make the most of the experience.
We have had workawayers from all over the world who came to participate and help us and we have stayed friends with many.
We will have a self-contained double bedroom, with a lounge, shower room and small kitchenette, for you and space when you need it and good company when you don’t.
We are ideally seeking couples (MF) (MM) (FF) for a mutually beneficial arrangement where everybody is content.
The Valencia region is a truly lovely area of Spain with pretty pastel coloured towns to visit, amazing beaches at Gandia a 20-minute drive away, and lush countryside with many orange trees.
There are also plenty of nice walks or bicycle rides in any direction from the house.
The town is a 7-minute walk or 2 minutes on bikes with a cheap cafe bar, across the river is another small town with amenities (Cafe Bars, Shop, Bakery, Hairdresser, Chemist, Post office, Cash Point)
We are a very easy-going couple who enjoy other people's company and will want you to enjoy yourself and have fun, as well as help us out. It's not all help and no play. We hope to help you by sharing our skills and experience.
We are in woodland with nature and privacy yet also close to all amenities, and there is a garden with a swimming pool too.
There will be lots of free time for you to enjoy exploring the local area or just chilling out. Please be aware that this is a rural location with no party nightlife. Just one bar locally and several others in the next village There is a once daily bus from the village to Gandia, city and beach.
We are both quite experienced cooks and still enjoy cooking various types of food, if you want to take a turn in making a meal perhaps your favourite dish or the speciality of your country you will be more than welcome otherwise leave it to us! We cook indoors and outdoors in a summer kitchen.
There is good wifi, and smoking is only outside the house.
With work away, we have had visitors from the UK, France, Germany, Italy, Latvia, Ireland, Wales, Canada, Chile, USA, the Czech Republic, Brazil, Scotland Hungary and most recently Argentina. All are made very welcome...so be bold, share the dream and send us a message ..... find out more!

Visitors can learn / improve your English language. We can help with basic Spanish language and culture.
You will learn about house maintenance and become skilled in minor house renovation tasks. We want you to help us restore this house so you will learn how to work in basic diy. ( do it yourself )
You will learn how to grow vegetables from seed.
You can learn how to cook a large range of foods.
You will have fun and laugh a lot, eat well and make good friendships and memories to treasure.
Arbeit
We need help with some decorative and restoration in parts of the house. Some cleaning tasks.Anyone with any sort of building experience would be welcome though this not essential.. Things like painting and more adventurous d.i.y tasks if you want such as wood work, external painting, pointing. We are just looking for friendly people with helping hands. Quite a bit has already been completed but there is still a bit to do.
Furniture up-cycling experience would be useful to us.
There are also some garden projects as we try to become more and more self sufficient.
A lot of the work will be outside in the cooler part of the day.
Setting us up with a desktop computer and work station with printer etc.

We are happy to drop you off on your days off and collect you later.
We will also collect you and drop you at Gandia Train Station. Trains run to and from Valencia.
From Valencia trains travel to Madrid, Alicante and many destinations.
We are flexible on work arrangements so if you help more days, you can collect your days off and spend 3 or 4 days away if you wanted to, such as in Madrid or other cities within reach of Valencia.
Alternatively stay home and chill out by the pool or visit the local villages.
