Hello dear workawayers!
---Introducing myself---
This is Hiroshi at Bizen city, Okayama, Japan.
I've lived in Kenya and France, and also travelled to around 20 countries in my previous work. About 4 years ago, I came back to my hometown and started some activities to restore local cultures and connect the Japanese countryside and the world.
---My projects---
I live in a Japanese traditional house "Kominka". Workawayers will help some simply works at home such as repairing or cleaning up my house.
---My place---
My place is a Japanese wooden house so-called "Kominka" located by the sea. Bathroom, toilet and the kitchen space are renovated into a modern style but the rooms on the 2nd floor are traditional Japanese style which Japanese lovers would like.
I have a small space in the backyard of my place for DIY works.
---My local area---
My local area is quite and relaxing. There's the sea, some small mountains, a river and many old people lol A fish market is in front of my place and they have different shops which you can buy all kinds of fish and vegetables every Sunday.
A supermarket complex is nearby too, so you have an easy access to a variety of foods and products.
And next to my area, there's the area named "Imbe" where lots of Bizen-yaki potters work. Hinase area, in the other side of the city, has many seafood restaurants and oyster shops.
---My family and other people involved---
I live by myself, and my parents live in Tamano city where it takes about an hour by car. My brother lives in Okayama city and my sister is in Kurashiki city. They are all nearby.
I have Japanese friends who run a French restaurant near my place and also many Bizen -yaki potter friends in the same city. I also have some wasen (Japanese traditional boat) friends and they sometimes scull/row a small wasen boat with me as well as help me to do some activities related to wooden boatbuilding.Arten von Hilfe und Lernmöglichkeiten

---Social activities---
I sometimes organize lunch or dinner with my friends. You can join it and socialize with the locals there. And also, time to time, I can take you to some local spots.
---The skills and knowledge that I can share with Workawayers---
You can learn Japanese traditional woodworking/carpentry by repairing and cleaning up my Kominka house. And also, I can teach you some local folklores and history as I am studying it with advice of local experts. You can practice Japanese language with me too!
---What you hope to learn by hosting people from different cultures---
-Woodworking/DIY in your country
-French or English languageArbeit
-Help around the house such as activities related to my Kominka, a Japanese traditional house. Workawayers will help me to take care of my place by cleaning up the house and my garden and also some reparations of the house with some Japanese traditional woodworking tools.

I would like to practice both French and English.Unterkunft
Your bedroom is a Japanese-style room on the 2nd floor which is private. Shared bathroom, toilet and kitchen are all on the 1st floor. My bedroom is on the 1st floor too, so the privacy of your room is secured.
My Japanese friends often say my house is clean, so I can say that the rooms are clean in Japanese standard.
I provide a lunch to you. I often cook Japanese food especially rice and miso soup with fish and vegetables, so it is nice if you have the same taste. Was noch ...
--Suggestions for what they can do with their time off and transport options around your local area---
-You can walk around the seaside/riverside.
-There's a bus stop right in front of my house.
-The nearest train station is about 15 minutes away on foot. You can visit other areas in/outside Bizen city by train.
-I can sometimes take you somewhere you would like to go by car. e.g. onsen, restaurant, market, sightseeing, my kendo practice, etc
---Anything they should know about how you live your life or any house rules?---
-I am trying to be a morning person so it is nice if you can be quite at night:)Etwas mehr Information
