Beschreibung
I'm Antigoni. I live in a small village near the northern borders of Greece, in what was once my grandfather's forgotten house. Three years ago, I moved here to build something from scratch—away from the city, in silent nights and slow (or dynamic) days, depending on the season and weather.
I don't make plans. My ideas are born in the early morning, and anything I try to plan beforehand usually ends up in the garbage. This place has changed in directions I never expected, and I've learned to trust that.
I welcome travelers—bikepackers, hitchhikers, caravans—and their presence is essential here. They bring energy, inspiration, sometimes a much-needed reset. When the lake is too steady, it turns into a marsh.
Days here have their own rhythm. There's gardening work that changes with the seasons—olive trees, fruit trees, vegetables, quails, chickens. There's a big piece of land where you can experiment if you're motivated to. I'm open to learning and sharing what I know, but this isn't a structured program with tasks laid out for you. You'll need to find your own way into the work and the place.
What works here:
People who are comfortable with autonomy and don't need constant direction
Self-starters who can see what needs doing and do it
Respect for personal space and time—both yours and mine
Realistic expectations about rural life (it's simple, sometimes solitary, not always comfortable)
What to know:
I'm around, but I'm not organizing your days or providing activities
The experience you have here is largely shaped by what you bring to it
Some travelers find this deeply restorative; others find it too unstructured—both are valid.
I've done plenty of volunteer work myself in France, Spain, Portugal, and the Czech Republic. The exchanges I valued most were with people who brought their own energy and curiosity, and who understood this was about mutual respect and shared work—not about one person serving the other.

During your stay here, I hope it will feel less like “work” and more like being part of a small, living project. I’ve traveled and volunteered myself so I know how important it is to feel included and valued. For me, Workawayers are not just helpers—as I said their presence and their energy is already contributing to this place.
We’ll share meals, conversations, stories, and daily life in this little village. I can teach you what I’ve learned so far about gardening, taking care of animals, and living a simple but fulfilling life close to nature. I also love sharing language, culture, and traditions with anyone who is curious.
At the same time, I hope to learn from you—whether it’s gardening tricks from your country, new recipes, different philosophies of life, or just your way of seeing the world. Each traveler leaves their “stamp” here, and this exchange of energy and ideas is what keeps the place alive and inspiring.

We had a wonderful time at Antigoni's place. We made a chicken coop, chopped wood, crushed wood, cooked and dug out trees... it's the perfect place if you want to get hands on and get work done in nature. Her place is located in a very small village where it's easy to go for a hike or walk your dog.… read more
