  🌴 Welcome to Kafountine/Abéné in southern Senegal! 🌴🌊
  
  My name is Aliou, I am an agricultural technician and a certified Basketball coach. I work with a local NGO of 5 people on community health, agriculture and youth projects.
  I live 5 min walk from Abéné/Kafountine beach, one of the most beautiful places in Senegal.
  
  What I offer:
  An authentic exchange in my village. No mass tourism here; this is real Senegalese life.
  
  The help I need: 4-5 hours/day, 5 days/week
  1. Agriculture: Help in the vegetable garden, irrigation, planting, and harvesting. I have knowledge of agricultural techniques and can teach you a lot.
  
  2. Sports & Activities: Lead basketball/soccer sessions for the village youth. I am a certified coach and basketball player.
  
  3. NGO/Community Projects: Support for small projects with children and women, French/English lessons.
  
  What I offer in exchange:
  
  - Accommodation: Single room at my place or at a campsite
  - Food: 3 meals a day - Senegalese specialties, fresh fish
  - Experience: Discover Kafountine, the beach, the mangroves, the dugout canoes, cultural dances. I'll show you around.

  I speak French and English. I am energetic, responsible, and I love to share. Sports and agriculture are my passions.
  
  The location: Abéné/Kafountine (the kingdom of tranquility) is calm, beautiful, with a large beach and a great atmosphere. Ideal for disconnecting and learning.

  Je m’appelle Aliou, technicien agricole et coach sportif de Basket diplômé. Je travaille avec une ONG locale de 5 personnes sur des projets de santé communautaire, agriculture et jeunesse.

  1. Agriculture: Aider au jardin maraîcher, irrigation, plantation, récolte. J’ai des connaissances en technique agricole et je peux t’apprendre beaucoup.
  2. Sport & Animation: Animer des séances de basket/foot pour les jeunes du village. Je suis coach diplômé et basketteur.
  3. Projets ONG / Communauté: Soutien pour des petites actions avec les enfants et les femmes, cours de français/anglais.

  - Logement: Chambre simple chez moi ou campement
  - Nourriture: 3 repas par jour - spécialités sénégalaises, poisson frais
  - Expérience: Découverte de Kafountine, la plage, la mangrove, les pirogues, dance culturelle. Je te fais visiter.

  Welcome to Kafountine, a small fishing village on the Atlantic coast in Casamance!
  
  Here, we live in harmony with nature. We're looking for motivated Workawayers to help us and share our daily life.
  
  What you'll do with us:
  1. Gardening and Permaculture: Help maintain the vegetable garden. Plant, water, and harvest the vegetables.
  
  2. Activities with Youth: Play basketball, soccer, or lead workshops with the village children.
  
  3. Construction Projects: Help with small tasks, painting, or house maintenance.
  
  4. Cultural Sharing: Learn to cook Senegalese dishes together and share recipes from your own culture with us.
  
  We work together: Yes! We do everything together. We work 4-5 hours in the morning, and the afternoons are free. We'll go to Abéné beach, we'll fish, we'll chat.
  
  In return, we'll offer you: accommodation, three meals a day, and a true immersion in Senegalese culture.
  
  You'll leave with new skills in gardening and cooking, and lots of memories!

  Ici on vit au rythme de la nature. On cherche des Workawayers motivés pour nous aider et partager notre quotidien.
  
  Ce que vous ferez avec nous :
  1. Jardinage et permaculture: Aider à entretenir le potager. Planter, arroser, récolter les légumes.
  2. Animation avec les jeunes: Jouer au basket, au foot, ou faire des ateliers avec les enfants du village.

  Oui ! On fait tout ensemble. Le matin on travaille 4-5h, l’après-midi on est libre. On va à la plage d’Abéné, on pêche, on discute.
  
  En échange on vous offre : le logement, 3 repas par jour, et une vraie immersion dans la culture sénégalaise.
  
  Vous repartirez avec de nouvelles compétences en jardinage, en cuisine, et plein de souvenirs !

  Unterkunft

  Accommodation:
  You will have your own clean and secure room in our house in Kafountine. Beds, sheets, and mosquito nets are provided. The toilet and shower are shared.
  
  Meals:
  We provide three meals a day. We eat Senegalese dishes together: rice, fish, and vegetables from the garden. We drink bissap (hibiscus tea) and mint tea. You are also welcome to cook your own dishes and share them with us!
  
  Important:
  Running water and electricity are available. Wi-Fi is sometimes available.

  Logement :
  Vous aurez votre propre chambre propre et sécurisée dans notre maison à Kafountine. Il y a des lits, des draps, et des moustiquaires. Les toilettes et la douche sont partagées.
  
  Repas :
  On fournit 3 repas par jour. On mange ensemble des plats sénégalais : riz, poisson, légumes du jardin. On boit du bissap, du thé à la menthe. Vous pouvez aussi cuisiner vos plats et nous les faire découvrir !

  Free Time and Activities:
  During your free time, you can go to Abéné beach (15 minutes away by motorbike), visit the fishing village, play basketball with the local youth, or relax in the garden. The town of Kafountine is a 5-minute taxi ride away.
  
  Transportation:
  To get here: Ziguinchor Airport, then taxi/bus to Kafountine. We can pick you up at the bus station.
  
  *Simple Rules:*
  1. *Hours*: 4-5 hours of help per day, 5 days a week. We get up early to work in the garden when it's cool.
  
  2. *Respect*: Respect local culture, prayer times, and the villagers.
  
  3. *Alcohol*: Alcohol is not allowed in the house. We respect village customs.
  
  4. *Cleanliness*: We keep common areas clean. Everyone cleans up after themselves.
  
  5. *Safety*: Swimming at the beach is only allowed during daylight hours. Let us know if you're going outside the village.
  
  6. *Sharing*: We eat together! It's the best time to connect.
  
  The atmosphere is friendly and relaxed. We're here to learn and share :)
  
  2. HOW TO GET TO KAFOUNTINE
  
  *To get to Kafountine, Abéné:*
  
  1. *Plane*: Dakar or Gambia Airport (AIBD)
  2. *Dakar → Ziguinchor*: Plane (1 hour 10 minutes) or Bus (7 hours)
  3. *Ziguinchor → Kafountine*: Bush taxi or 7-seater. Approximately 2 hours 30 minutes.
  
  I can pick you up at the Kafountine bus stop.
  Send me your arrival time 2 days in advance!

  Temps libre et à visiter :
  Pendant votre temps libre vous pouvez aller à la plage d'Abéné à 10min en moto, visiter le village de pêcheurs, faire du basket avec les jeunes, ou vous détendre dans le jardin. La ville de Kafountine est à 5min en taxi.
  
  Transport :
  Pour venir : Aéroport de Ziguinchor puis taxi/bus jusqu'à Kafountine. On peut venir vous chercher à la gare routière.
  
  Règles de la maison :
  On vit simplement et dans le respect. Pas d'alcool dans la maison. On enlève les chaussures à l'intérieur. On partage les tâches ménagères. L'important c'est la bonne humeur et l'échange !

  3. *Alcool*: L’alcool n’est pas autorisé dans la maison. On respecte les coutumes du village.
  4. *Propreté*: On garde les espaces communs propres. Chacun range après soi.
  5. *Sécurité*: Baignade à la plage uniquement le jour. Préviens si tu sors du village.
  6. *Partage*: On mange ensemble ! C’est le meilleur moment pour échanger.
  
  L’ambiance est familiale et détendue. On est là pour apprendre et partager:)
