We are growing a collective on beautiful Quadra Island BC and have a small hobby farm (new to us the last two years) with multiple projects on the go! We have an active busy lifestyle and love to hike, climb, mountain bike, paddle board and spend our free time enjoying this beautiful place we live. We are happy to host people keen to adventure and explore and you are welcome to come on the boat when we go out to see the humpback whales. Quadra has beautiful rocky beaches and stunning views, good mountain bike and hiking trails and many lakes for summertime dips on hot days.
We have skills to share: Adam is a contractor with Carpentry background, raised on a farm in Ontario and has lived on the islands for 25 years with two kiddos- Kai 18 and Dylan 14. Cat is a Craniosacral therapist and has a passion for growing food, gardening on the islands for 25 years with two adult kids living in the Comox Valley BC. She is happy to work with you in the flowers or carrots and share knowledge in sustenance living.
We are planting a food forest permaculture styles in the back end of the property and have a large shared garden. The property is 10 acres (with 5 fenced for the Great Pyrenees 1.5 year old Odin as well as to keep deer out) and we are about a 5 minute drive from the ferry terminal in Quathiaski Cove.
There is a trailhead that you can walk to the Quadra Community Centre and other trailheads just a hop and a skip down the road but a vehicle or a bike would be necessary even though we are always happy to carpool.
We have an ever-evolving flock of birds which usually includes chickens (layer hens and meat birds) with soon to come Turkeys and Ducks and sometimes even pigs and sheep. If we are lucky we'll have kittens by the time you arrive.
There are a few different dwellings on the property that are occupied and you would have a trailer with a deck and shelter that is self contained with heat, water, and all the amenities needed.

Small island culture is a special treat and we love sharing conversation, music and adventure! There are many local music events and we would invite you to come enjoy the local music with us! There are many lakes and hiking trails and we have paddle boards you can use - we love to enjoy picnics at the lakes with friends and can bring you with us to enjoy the local hiking trails and picnic with us at the beach. Hopefully weather will permit some small boat adventures we can take you on to the local small islets for day adventures. We often host barbeques for friends and family and work away'ers would join in the fun!

You'll be in your own private trailer with a deck and furniture and all the basics for cooking. You'll be provided with free range eggs and fresh produce for 3 hours / day of help (up to 15 hours/week).

We need to spend a few years at home building our food forest and we hope you will bring a taste of travel to us while we grow our oasis for our family and community.

Chickens (1 Jahr)
We have Layer hens and are getting meat birds and turkeys shortly. The layer hens have and automatic door but need fresh feed and water daily and egg collection. Occasional cleaning of the checken coop is needed.
Odin (1 Jahr)
Odin is a sweet friendly great Pyrenees that loves all the animals on the farm!
