We are a family-run project in the Colombian Andes, nestled between the small towns of Sasaima and Albán at around 1,700 metres above sea level — just a few hours from Bogotá, yet worlds away.
Our finca spans around 40 hectares, of which 15 hectares are primary cloud forest. The rest is a mosaic of secondary forest, old pastures, and abandoned growing areas that have been resting for over 25 years. That long silence is actually our greatest asset: the land is ready to wake up again.
We are in the early stages of building something we believe matters. Situated in a region under increasing development pressure due to its proximity to Bogotá, we want this place to be a lasting counter-proposal — a working example that land can be productive, regenerative, and wild at the same time. Our vision is rooted in syntropic agroforestry and permaculture: growing coffee and food within a system that mimics the forest, restores biodiversity, and honours the primary forest that still stands here.
Beyond farming, we are establishing hiking trails through the forest, planting native species, and creating a space where people can learn, rest, and reconnect with nature.
This is not a polished retreat. It is a real project in its early chapter — and we are looking for people who want to be part of writing it.

Life on the finca is simple and unhurried. Meals are often shared — and the table is usually where the best conversations happen, about the land, the project, and whatever is on everyone's mind. But there is also plenty of space and privacy if you prefer time to yourself. Life here moves at its own pace, and we try not to over-organise it.
The finca has its own river running through it, and the surrounding area offers waterfalls, cloud forest trails, and small towns like Sasaima and Villeta within easy reach, each with its own character and a pace of life that feels far removed from Bogotá, even though the capital is not far away. We explore these places together when the moment is right.
We are at an early stage of something we have thought about deeply, and one of the things we genuinely look forward to in hosting people is the conversation that comes with it. Every person who arrives brings a different perspective on land, on living, on what regeneration could mean. We find that valuable. If you have ideas, questions, or a vision of your own, we want to hear it.

The work on our finca is as varied as the land itself. Depending on the season and what the project needs most, you might find yourself planting native trees or coffee seedlings in a syntropic system, clearing and building hiking trails through the forest, tending compost systems, or helping to protect and maintain the primary cloud forest that covers a third of our land.
No two days look the same — and that is part of the appeal.
The physical demand ranges from light to more strenuous, depending on the task and the terrain. We pay attention to who you are and what suits you: if you prefer gentle garden work, there is plenty of that. If you want to push yourself on a steep forested slope with a machete in hand, there is that too. We work alongside you, not just next to you — sharing the tasks, the reasoning behind them, and the bigger picture of what we are trying to build here.
Your host is a trained agronomist with a background in soil biology and regenerative agriculture. Working here means learning why we do things the way we do — from composting methods to syntropic planting design. We love exchanging knowledge and will happily explain the thinking behind every task.
What we hope to find in you is not a specific skill set, but a genuine curiosity about land, soil, and regenerative systems. Whether you are completely new to agriculture or have some experience, what matters most is that you care about why this kind of work is important.

My partner is a native Spanish speaker, and I get by in Spanish well enough for daily life, though I am still learning. English works well for both of us, so communication is rarely an issue. We also are both fluent in german

Workawayers stay in their own small casa on the property, separate from the main house. It has two bedrooms, a kitchen, and a bathroom with hot water. There is electricity and reliable internet access.
Food and drinking water are included. We usually cook together when it feels right, but you are equally welcome to use the kitchen at your own pace. There is no fixed routine around meals — we keep it flexible and adapt to what works for everyone.

Getting here is straightforward. From Bogotá, take a bus via Facatativá — a journey that gives you a first glimpse of the landscape as you leave the city behind. If timing works out, we are also happy to arrange a meeting point in Bogotá.
Once you are here, getting around is easy. Local buses run regularly along the main road, and we have a car for shared trips when the moment calls for it. Sasaima, Villeta, and the surrounding villages are all within reach and worth exploring.
The one thing we ask of everyone on the finca is a respectful attitude towards the natural environment. We are here to protect and restore this land, and that spirit shapes how we live and work together.
