Tom and I stayed with Valérie and Lionel for a week. We were welcomed very warmly and shown around the property. The studio in which we stayed was clean and very comfortable.
Around the property, there is plenty of varied work to do. We did mostly gardening tasks though if we had have stayed longer we would have done some renovation projects for

Valérie went above and beyond with her cooking ~ she definitely makes sure you're fed! Her English is very good, so if your French is not great don't panic but she will help you with your French too 😊! We went to a few beaches and did a hike with Valérie while we stayed with her. She also gave us a few towns to visit and provided train timetables as well.
Honestly, if you're considering a Workaway then you won't regret it with Valérie and Lionel. We felt so welcome and comfortable there.

Our experience with Valerie and Lionel was a week of genuine cultural exchange. Valerie shared her love and knowledge of plants / nature, and showed us how to gather wild salad greens growing on stone walls in the countryside.

Valérie and Lionel are two very nice, lovable and caring people who enjoy life and work.
They live very close to the small town of Ille Rousse and have a huge plot with a lot of work. With its large garden and the many construction topics, it never gets boring.
I was a guest with them for 3.5 weeks and was able to adapt and build some furniture
… read more during this time. The tasks were not quite simple with the existing tools and often required creative solutions. That's exactly what was a lot of fun. Valérie also took me to local craftsmen to organize material. The Corsican joinery of Marius will remain in my memory.
The accommodation in the private apartment with kitchenette and bathroom was very good!. And although Valérie was often not completely satisfied with her cooking skills - I was always 100% happy with rich, varied and good food & drink.
I was able to organize the work very independently and thus carry out my bike tours on the coast and in the mountainous region well.
It was a great experience with the two of them to live and work for a few weeks. They are very likeable people with whom I enjoyed living.

This large property needs love and a lot of work! We had very clear communication and I was able to propose new projects and had the freedom to develop a complete renovation on a large storage apartment! It was hard work, but I think we're both very happy with the results we've achieved so far! I was also able to paint some of the furniture and windows, which was a lot of fun! I also helped with the cleaning and a bit of gardening. I felt very recognized for my work!
The working hours were very fair and can be flexible if you need them.
Valerie took us on very nice hikes and to nearby villages, a whole new adventure! The time we spent together drinking beer, wine and having long conversations was lovely! We had also very nice walks in the beach colenting shelves and the area's specialties. L' Île Rousse is a beautiful village with amazing beaches for swimming! Unfortunately, I couldn't enjoy it much because it was getting cold, but the nature there and the view are breathtaking! I'm very happy to have received this mission and to have enjoyed my stay with them so much!

Valerie took us on hikes and took us to the beach, as well as was always available to provide local insights and knowledge about the beautiful Corsica countryside. I highly recommend this work away. The location is close enough to town to walk in every day for coffee or a snack and was within walking distance from the beach very ideal
Jordy is a kind and volunteer guy .. and was also easy going with everyone.
With his help , some works were done,
Speaking English was getting better .
As he is interested in socializing, traveling and learning skills so Workaway is the good solution.. and for us , it was also a benefit !

They were open and interested in our life.
She cooked and provided food for us very well. During our days off, she helped us organize our trips and even drove us to the station. The beach is 20 mins away by foot and it is beautiful and clean.

The workaway communal area is a bit dirty but I was the first workawayer so I understand why and it was not too much of a worry for me, the studio was very comfortable. Valerie prepared some foods for me, bought bread from the bakery and fresh foods like cheese and vegetables.
