Beschreibung
We are an caffee, bar, art gallery and community venue where locals, expats. travelers, artists come together through events, workshops and shared projects. Or random stuff like renting a motorbike or joining camping.
We regularly host:
live music nights
art exhibitions
creative workshops
trivia and social nights
language exchanges
community events
collaborative art projects
Our goal is to create an open, creative environment where people can share ideas, learn new skills and experience a side of Vietnam that most travelers never see. We are actually aiming to create Tuy Hoa - THE CITY OF ART!!!! We want to do so with us as the 3rd space!!
This experience is a great fit if you’re interested in:

You will be living at the cafe itself, in a room we call Scarlet (actually not red enough yet, help us make it more red and artistic :) , You’ll work alongside both our vietnamese staff and other volunteers. There are several expats that also help in various ways, take part in events, etc.
One thing to know before applying: we are a small, busy and chaotic team and leadership, often I will fail to give complete instructions and will expect you to figure it out. This is a little by design, you don't want to be micromanaged, and will have a lot of freedom in how to execute tasks. If you’re self-motivated and enjoy that kind of ifreedom, you’ll love it here. If you prefer clear step-by-step guidance and close supervision, both you and I will feel stressed... -

Tuy Hoa is a relaxed coastal city with beaches, coffee shops and a much slower rhythm than Vietnam’s larger tourist destinations.

Arbeit
Volunteers help around 25 hours a week, some stuff is fixed, like workshops you are hosting, other is just do it whenever.
Minimum stay: 3 weeks.
Typical tasks include:
helping run events and social nights
assisting with workshops for adults inside the space
supporting children’s workshops
preparing materials and setting up for activities
creative projects, decoration and improving the space
general support
Keeping the place clean and organized.
How we work
We’re looking for people who are quick, efficient and self-directed. Our days move fast, and we value volunteers who can see what needs doing and simply do it, without waiting to be asked or needing every step explained. My way to approach things is MVP - Minimum Viable Product - in short it means, we make stuff FAST!!!!! Probably with some mistakes, and then next time the same event/art/project we IMPROVE LATER.
We use AI for various things, its not about replacing humans, its about automating boring or slow tasks. Please be comfortable using it too, sure it might be more relaxing doing everything manually, but we also need to get stuff done, not just playing around (For example to prepare for an art workshop, we might use some AI tools, the workshop itself for customer and you later is using manual skill)

Being a friendly face for visitors, newcomers and regulars
Starting conversations and helping people feel at home
Keeping the space tidy, inviting and ready for whatever’s happening that day
Introducing guests to upcoming events and activities
Overall, this is a flexible, hands-on role for energetic, independent people who like to make things happen. -

Unterkunft
Volunteers live on site, in a private volunteer room on the second floor of our space, about 5 minutes from the beach.
You’ll have access to:
Wi-Fi
a shower (cold water only)
shared common areas
art supplies and musical instruments
NO AC!!! Aclimatize :)
We provide:
free breakfast and basic snacks (eggs, oatmeal, milk, bread and instant noodles), which volunteers usually cook together in the kitchen (and CLEAN UP after yourself!)
free use of bicycles, and sometimes a scooter
all art supplies and jewelry-making materials, plus support if you’d like to take on a bigger art project of your own
50% off food at our space
Our provided food is simple, so most volunteers also eat out. That’s easy and cheap here, with local meals from around 25KVND. The use of the kitchen closes at 5 p.m. After that either order of the menu at a discount, or get food elsewhere (this is too keep the kitchen clean from clutter during service)
We also ask volunteers not to bring takeaway food into the front of the space. We’re working on our sustainability, and we’d rather guests didn’t see plastic packaging around.

Daytime is usually quiet, We are closed during the weekdays so can explore the city, beaches, etc or make art, practice music, etc. Evenings we have events and guests, and that’s when most of the social interaction happens.
The team
Vaidas, the founder, is a friendly, chatty guy who is often a bit scattered but always full of ideas and good energy. The team speaks good English and is always happy to show you around and explain how things work.
We want you to grow as an artist while you’re here, as much as we want your help making the space better. If you come with ideas and the drive to see them through, we’ll support you all the way. -

Tuy Hòa is a pretty chill coastal town. In your free time you can explore the area, waterfalls, beaches, camping spots. Not so much in rain season though (October to February, and November/December it pretty much just pours), so if you come then, you’ll be inside a lot more.
The town is still cool. There’s a couple of nice local temples, and the main market is great, it’s my favourite place to shop. Tuy Hòa also has a lot of good cafés. I have a list, happy to share it.
The beach is right there, about 300 meters away. Locals are scared of the sun, so in the middle of the day you basically have it to yourself. When the weather’s good we do bonfires, BBQs and night swims with the glowing plankton.
Other than that, you can work on your own stuff. Art, writing, whatever little projects you have. Meet some locals, talk to them, get into something. That’s kind of the whole point of the place. -

We have good Wi-Fi and plenty of spaces where you can work, this is suitable for someone working remotely. Just keep in mind that Vietnam isn’t the quietest country in the world. Even though Tuy Hòa is very laid-back and relaxed, you’ll still hear some scooters and cars around. (normally its the motorbikes crossing the intersection next to our place, that will give a "safety beep" as they drive by.
