  We are a couple on 3 acres in Kaslo BC. We both run our own small businesses - Caleb is an arborist and Keshia is a chinese medicine practitioner with her office on the property in a separate building. We currently have 2 dogs - one older and one puppy. In the summertime we often have a friend's horse grazing in a small section.
  We love our place as it is backed by crown land and connects to a wonderful trail system up the mountain behind us. We also have a beautiful mountain view, and great neighbours!
  Kaslo is a small village on a lake and is beautiful all year round. The village is relatively small but has a fair amount of interesting stuff happening all the time - farmers market, open mic night, drum circles, yoga classes.
  We want help transforming our property into a hobby farm and large vegetable & medicine garden. We have the garden area fenced and chicken coop built with chickens and ducks planned for spring. We are working on a small pond for ducks. We have already planted 5 young fruit trees, 20 blueberry bushes, raspberries, and have other wild berries on the property too.
  Keshia has been starting herbs and medicinals from seed, seeing which Chinese herbs can grow here.
  We have small elderberry trees, mulberry, and hawthorn planted. Small but hopefully with continued care they will one day thrive.
  Mainly we want help moving dirt and building garden beds, but everything helps.

  Community events, potlucks, local summer music festivals. Caleb is an arborist and knows a lot about trees. Keshia is a chinese medicine practitioner and is always learning more about plants and which ones we can use as medicine.

  Arbeit

  We would love help getting the garden happening. We have piles of dirt that need to be moved to make beds, and we need to build up the quality of the soil. With manure from neighbouring farms, and with a compost going and chickens planned for spring, we are confident we will get good soil going eventually. We would also like to do some green manure crops to help build the soil.
  We are happy with mound dirt beds for now, we don't need to build wood boxes or anything.
  
  Caleb will be around Fridays and weekends and Keshia will be around Wednesdays and weekends (Keshia works from home so will be around but will be with clients for the most part).
  We are both self employed and balancing our businesses with time spent building up the garden.

  Unterkunft

  Very basic 'bunky'. Small 8x10 building with an outhouse and cold water tap nearby. We lived in this for 9 months while we built our house, and we've had friends live in it this passed summer/fall. We will setup the outdoor kitchen with a toaster oven and small propane camp stove. There is an outdoor hot-water shower at another building.
  Small loft for sleeping, or futon couch can turn into a bed for sleeping below, and use loft for clothes storage etc.
  Could be suitable for a couple or close friends.

  There is a big beautiful beach in Kaslo. There are tons of trails - walking, hiking, mountain biking -all very close.
