Autumn Programme :
**** We are looking for help to smarten up our garden and and tidy and clean our house.
This project is on offer until the end of January 2025. Start and finish dates are flexible, so you can stay for a week and extend your stay if you like it !
Careful planning is ESSENTIAL for both workawayers and hosts, so please do not waste our time...when you write to us with your start date please COMMIT to that date. We have 5 accommodations available for reservation on a first come-first serve basis. Hopefully we will manage to fill the accommodations, so you will be part of a team of 5 people !

About us, the hosts...
We are two open minded mature guys, (66 and 74) who live in a cottage near to the Gorge du Verdon.
The National Park is one hours drive away. The spectacular Gorge itself is further away. There is so much to see and do there, (including many different sport activities) so we suggest you allow 4 - 5 days after your workaway stay and head out there to experience this stunning landscape.
We describe ourselves as intelligent, outgoing and down to earth.
We do not have a problem regarding race/skin colour or sexual orientation.
Projects:
Creating a workawayers 'village' for you to have your own special place to hang out and have fun. The project involves the following :
*Cutting bushes/ grass and general ardening work.
*Creating a workout/gym area. I already have the weights/ bars etc, so we have to build a bench etc.
In addition we would like help with:
*Bicycle Repairs and maintainence.
*Fitness coaching... we trying to lose weight !
The majority of the tasks on offer are cutting bushes, other basic gardening and watering the plants...
We ask for 30 minutes help per day, with general housework, (boring I know, but it's necessary). This includes sweeping and washing the floor/ cleaning the bathroom, toilette and similar daily tasks. This 30 minutes housework is part of your 4 hours work.
I ask for 4 hours help per day/ 5 days per week in exchange for your own private accommodation, (in the caravan, little stone cube hut or wooden chalet...see photo's) plus meals and moderate amounts of alcoholic drinks, (please read the later paragraph relating to alcohol).
You are responsible for preparing all your meals and doing the washing up. Please note : As you are only working 2.5 hours per day, (most hosts ask for 5 or 5,5 hours) the food is limited to a basic level, but includes pasta + sauces/ rice/ potatoes/ milk/ cheese/ bread/ eggs/ wine. Fresh meat is not included and fresh vegatables and fruit are limited and delivered on a weekly basis.
After 5 days you have 2 free days to relax and explore.
We provide you with clean towels, bed-linen and have a large variety of work-clothes for you to wear + shower gel and shampoo...so you can travel light !
We do not provide mosquito repellent spray or sun protection so make sure you bring it with you !
Internet access is limited, (through our airbox). Please ensure you have plenty of mobile data.
We do not tolerate heavy consumption of alcohol ! This has been such an enormous problem : alcoholism and abuse of our generosity in providing it - so we now only provide moderate amounts.
To join us you need to find your way to Les Arcs/Draguignan railway station or the town of Le Muy. We will collect you from there.
We are easy going, but...if you are any of the following you will definitely not fit in here :
* Overly religious. * If you have a problem with mosquitos and bugs, or rodents, (all provence houses in the countryside have them and they even come into the kitchen area and shit too !...it's nature and you have to deal with it...)
* If you are reliant on alcohol.
* If you have a problem with food that is approaching or has reached its use-by date. We are eco-friendly and green and hate the wastage of food within the food/supermarket industry, so we always buy food that is close to its use-by date.
Please note: WE NOW ONLY ACCEPT WORKAWAYERS OVER 25 YEARS OF AGE, (we may consider someone under that age if they have several positive feedbacks). We have had too many negative experiences with younger workawayers.
Careful planning is everything for both hosts and workawayers !!!
