    •••OUR TEAM•••

    Bienvenidos, welcome, willkommen!

We are a Mexican - American - German team!

. TERRY (in her 60s and from the US) is an herbalist and Ayurveda practitioner.

She is responsible for the workaway selection process, and will also be your onsite "hostess with the mostess".

She is resposible for keeping this PLACE clean, and she is the Big Dog Mama.

. LUCAS (in his 50s and from Mexico) has a background in computer technology.

He is running this PLACE, and is responsible for all maintenance tasks.

. ULLA (also in her 60s but from Germany) is a seamstress, artist, and writer.

    She manages the workawayer page.

    •••THE PLACE•••

The PLACE consists of 4 apartments, 7 studios, and 1 guest room, a pool, lots of plants, and a labyrinth of more rooms, stairs, decks, and passages... all in quite a FUNKY state.

    Long story...

Btw, this is NOT A HOSTEL, tho it looks like one!

    •••THE EXCHANGE•••

    Your regular workaway hours are:
    . Mon to Fri
. Starting between 730 and 8 am to go until around 1230 pm you will be walking the dogs. except on Fridays which there will also be a late afternoon dog walk.

. You will start with 2 dog walks in the morning, Also sweeping and mopping floors.

There will be a break in between for Mercado shopping and/or breakfast,

There will be other activities as needed depending on the needs of Terry or Lucas.

You will be ending the day with another 2 dog walks to finish your work day.

Occasionally those hours might change, depending on Terry or Lucas schedule needs.

In exchange we offer our workawayers a guestroom with a shared or private bathroom (depending on availability), a shared kitchen, and a few fun spaces to hang out in.

    •••OUR VERY FUNKY PLACE•••

And I mean VERY FUNKY. RUSTIC. ARTSY.

. This PLACE, being close to the ocean and its corrosive nature, does provide lots of opportunities for all kinds of FUNKINESS.

. Our Main Kitchen is an open air kitchen, and it gets dusty, no matter how much or how often you clean it.

. We only have COLD showers and COLD running water to do dishes.

. And... sometimes the electricity comes via an extension cord rather than thru outlets in the wall.

If this kind of FUNKINESS does not drive you crazy, then this could be a good place for you.

    •••OUR VILLAGE•••

The population of La Cruz is a mix featuring
    - a Mexican village,
    - plus a snow bird population of mostly US and Canadian retirees from November till April,
    - plus year round or part time sailors anchored in the La Cruz Marina, which is close to the center of town.

Travelers have the opportunity to live and volunteer in the following environment:

. There are Mexicans, Americans, Germans, and Canadians (mostly in their 60s) living on this property in the middle of a Mexican fishing village.

. Some are year-round renters, some spend the winter months only, and some come for a few weeks, and

. We constantly switch back and forth between 2 languages (English, and Spanish) with various skill levels and improvisational abilities - plus some occasional German mixed in there.

Welcome to life in the midst of a Mexican fishing village with lots of senior citizen visitors in the winter and half empty in summer - in close proximity to the Pacific Ocean.

We ♡ LOVE ♡ INTROVERTS ♡ and quiet people
as most of us living here:
. enjoy spending lots of time by ourselves
. while also being friendly with our neighbors, when and if we run into each other.

We are asking all of our workawayers
. to stay a MINIMUM of 4 weeks,
. help us MON - FRI, and
. to be available for the following TASKS:

... WALKING OUR 2 BIG DOGS Mana and Oso (see picture below) on separate walks, due to both of them being quite territorial, in the neighborhood and on the beach.

Loving BIG dogs is a MUST:
. Mana is a Belgian Malinois, and she is 8+ years old,
. Oso is a Labrador-Rottweiler mix, and he is 5+ years old.

Because of the territorial nature of both dogs, we cannot host workawayers, who want to bring their own dogs or cats.

... CARRYING 20 LITER FILTERED WATER BOTTLES (called garafons here in Mexico) up and down stairs is another MUST.

... DAILY CLEANINGS of the (big) public spaces of the property (including the Pool Bathroom, the Main Kitchen, several stairs, and lots of tiled floors).

... WATERING and taking care of potted plants.

We are looking forward to hearing from you!

. most of the time with cold showers.

    . Filtered water
. A 5 minute walk in one direction to 2 beaches (which are NOT surfing beaches), and
