Beschreibung
We are looking for volunteers! Welcome!
We are an NGO and we operate a community center for the residents of a nearby refugee camp.
We provide psycho-social support throughout our different programs: Female Friendly Space, Children Friendly Space, Educational Program (English and German lessons), Arts and Recreation program (yoga/fitness/dance/guitar/piano lessons), and Warehouse (distribution of dry food/ clothes/hygiene products).
We are located in Serres, Northern Greece, about an hour away from Thessaloniki.
The residents of the camps are from different nationalities and backgrounds.
After contacting us either via message or email, we'll send you an information pack and application form - if there's a match with one or more of our programs, we'll invite you for an interview - talking about your experiences, motivation, and which programmes you would like to join and confirm a placement afterwards.
Skills preferred: English / German teacher (experience, TEFL, or strong interest and organizational skills), experience working with children, experience working with women and girls.
Minimum Commitment: 8 weeks!

You'll be part of a great team of international volunteers, the life in Serres is very nice, lots of restaurants, cafés, bars, hikes, close to Sofia and Thessaloniki.
You'll be part of an amazing solidarity project and you'll get the chance to discover the fascinating cultures of our beneficiaries!
It'll also be the opportunity to discover the humanitarian work from a field perspective. -

Arbeit
We can provide different types of volunteer opportunities :
- Female Friendly Space volunteers: facilitate activities like knitting day, spa day, movie day, ensure that the space is safe, socialize with the residents.
- Children Friendly Space: facilitate different activities for children aged 2 to 6 (sensory games, role play, construction, etc.), ensure the safety of the space, help the children to interact in an appropriate way and to express themselves.
- English & French teachers (TEFL and CELTA / Previous Experience preferred)
- Arts and Recreation - Help out teaching or assisting with yoga, fitness, art or music classes. As well as many other games and activities!
- Logistics - Maintenance and basic repairs in apartments and the Centre, bikeshift, supporting the running and organisation of the Freeshop, & helping in the warehouse with stock movement, organisation, and upkeep
Volunteers are expected , to attend the team meeting once a week and at times help out in other programs if necessary.
Two days off every week (Monday+Tuesday)
We do not provide meals. -

On your days off you can go spend the weekend on the coast, or in cities like Thessaloniki or Sofia, you could go hike Mount Olympus, go to the Tuesday market...
