  🌺 Maui + Pacific Northwest Summer 🌲 | Cultural Exchange with Our Family
  
  Aloha from Maui! 🌺
  
  Ready for an island-to-Pacific Northwest adventure? 🌴🌲
  
  We are a warm, active family excited to welcome our next wonderful Workawayer starting October 2026 to share life with us in two beautiful locations: sunny Maui most of the year and our peaceful summer beach community in Point Roberts, Washington (June–September). Point Roberts is a truly unique seaside village located right on the Canadian border, offering quiet coastal living with Vancouver, BC less than an hour away for easy city adventures. We love cultural exchange and have already had amazing experiences hosting Workawayers from the USA, Germany, and Spain.
  
  We are primarily based in Maui from September/October through June, and we spend our summers (June–September) in Point Roberts. We’re hoping to find someone interested in a longer stay (minimum 3 months, with a longer commitment strongly preferred) so they can truly settle into our family rhythm and experience both locations.

  🌴 Life in Maui
  
  Our Maui life is active, outdoorsy, and health-focused. We spend lots of time at the beach, enjoying nature, cooking nourishing meals at home, and staying active. Our days have a relaxed island rhythm, and we love soaking up everything Maui has to offer.
  
  🌲 Summers in Point Roberts (June–September)
  
  Point Roberts is a truly special place — a small, peaceful seaside community with beautiful nature, biking, and ocean views. Life here is slower-paced and very outdoors-oriented, while still offering the perk of Vancouver, BC less than an hour away when you want a city day.

  Kultureller Austausch und Lernmöglichkeiten

  Our main residence is in Maui, Hawaii. It is sunny and beautiful here almost all year long with beautiful beaches. In the Hawaiian Islands, the culture of its indigenous people, the Native Hawaiians, still runs strong today. When you visit, you'll have the opportunity to experience the amazing culture here. We would welcome you into our "ohana" which means family in Hawaii. Hawaii is the perfect place to grow which is why we want to start a garden to grow food. There are tons of things to do for the outdoorsy type of person who likes to explore.
  
  Our summer home is in Point Roberts, WA. This is a small, quaint coastal town in WA. It is a very unique spot that is only accessible by traveling through Canada. There is only 1 grocery store and 1 bar/restaurant. We often travel into Canada for access to more amenities. The USA/Canada border is 5 minutes from our home. Point Roberts is a truly unique place! We spend a lot of time in Canada which will give you a chance to see and explore another country.

  About our family
  
  We have three young children (ages 1, 3, and 5) and a warm, lively household. In addition to hosting a workawayer, we also have a full time au pair. In our home life we lean toward Waldorf-inspired, play-based values and enjoy creativity, time outdoors, and hands-on living.

  How you’ll be part of our home
  
  We’re looking for someone who enjoys being part of family life and is happy to contribute to the natural flow of the household. Areas where an extra set of hands is helpful include:
  • Joining in play, reading, crafts, and outdoor time
  • Helping with healthy meal prep and kitchen clean-up
  • Light household help as part of shared living
  • Assisting as we expand our home garden
  • Sharing knowledge (or learning with us!) about fermentation
  • Spanish language exchange with our children (Spanish fluency strongly preferred)

  We love cooking nourishing meals and living an active lifestyle. I especially love to cook and would enjoy sharing that passion with you — and I would also love to learn about your culture and cuisine and exchange recipes together.
  
  Fitness is part of our routine, and we’re happy to provide add you to our gym membership.
  
  We do travel as a family as well including an annual winter ski trip and trips to Canada to see family). When you travel with us, your travel expenses will be covered.
