These guys stayed with us for two and a half months in the darkest and coldest part of the year. These are super positive, clever, hardworking, funny and knowledgeable boys. They have good experience of being a WA and hosting a WA. We learned a lot about Canada, Mexico and the USA through the conversations we had. They are very good at photography

Our 2-and-a-half-month winter stay at Olav's farm was nothing short of life-changing and eye-opening. Felling trees, hiking, cycling, skiing, ice skating and mushing in the wilderness of Norway while fully immersing ourselves in the Norwegian lifestyle really gave us a new perspective on life. Olav's beautiful farm is the perfect spot for getting

Olav is the greatest example not only of how you must follow your instincts and do what you love, but he's also an exemplary father figure and sharing with others invaluable skills (that are getting lost in our modern times) is part of his DNA. We will for sure be back one day to this great spot of the world.

Olav Kjetil was our first workaway host.
This couldn't be better. We felt at home and we didn't want to leave. Olav Kjetil his place is really beautiful and it's surrounded by nature. We were here in September 2020 for a whole month.
We did a lot of different tasks like feeding the dogs and horses, painting the house, working in the garden and
… read more train (and cuddle with) the dogs. The working hours were really flexible. It is nice balance of work and free time. We also did some painting and carpeting at his hut nearby the Hardanger Vidda.
Olav Kjetil is a really nice host. We ate a lot of meals together, drank wine and listened to music. We also worked together with him where he explained a lot. We did some jobs we didn't expect we could do, but with the help of Olav Kjetil we did. He knows what you are capable of and let you learn by doing it yourself. We learned a lot and we had fun doing it.
We recommend it to come work here!

I really enjoyed my stay at Olavs place. Olav it very open-minded and friendly. The task were: feeding the dogs, cleaning the dog houses, feeding the horses and taking the dogs out to run. I felt that Olav did a lot to find tasks to keep me occupied, which was a nice gesture. However I also enjoyed just spending time at home, which I also had time
… read more for. For me 14 days was a perfect amount of time, but I am sure that it would be possible to find things to do, if you choose to stay longer.
I really liked how Olav was around the dogs, it was obvious that he truly cared for them. He was very kind with them. At the same time he managed to set himself in respect, so I always felt that the dogs could be trusted as they were well behaved.
Olav lives 4 km from the main road. The road to his house was very icy due to the warm weather. To be honest it made me very uncomfortable to drive (not me driving). Olav was a skilled driver on icy roads, however I felt uneasy. Olav said that it very unusual with so icy roads. I talked with him about my concern, and he understood. He said, that he might buy snow-chains for the wheels, that are made specifically to drive on ice.
We did some trips up in the mountain with the dogs, where Olav has a little hut. It was a very beautiful place and I enjoyed the two trips.
Thank you for this experience
