Paola is one eager little worker, no matter the task we were doing she was all in, ready to give it her all and learn something new. We took hay up the mountain one day on horse back and Paola was right there beside me ready to rock. The next day we had a trail to be cleared which meant hiking for hours carrying a chainsaw and again she jumped on

I spent almost 2 months this summer at Bracewell’s, and it was a fantastic experience. Even if a was a little bit scared when I arrived has it was my first trip by myself and I was not fluent in English, as soon as I arrived, I felt so welcomed and it was like I was part of a big new family.

Concerning the work, the tasks are different every day. You can work on a carpenter project for a couple of days and the next day go camping and clean trails in the mountains. Thanks to Aaron, Alex and Annalena, I learned so much stuff during my stay at Bracewell. I learned to drive an ATV, a side-by-side and even a mowing tractor! I learned to make fences, from peeling trails to build the fence and to use tools like saw or nail gun. I also learned a lot about horses and trail riding.
Also, I had a lot of fun time with the team. Rodeo, pizza nights, music festival, bonfire, game nights, yoga or lake day, we were never bored! And if you are lucky, you will maybe have the chance to participate in a trip or to ride around the ranch!
Thanks Aaron, Alex and Annalena for welcoming me and allowing me to experience Canadian ranch life!

There’s always a big crew — whether you're meeting new groups of guests each week, hanging with Alex’s friends or working with fellow volunteers from around the world. We had plenty of opportunities to attend Gymkanas, rodeos, music festivals, and meet more Workawayers from nearby ranches.
Every day was a different kind of fun! The jobs involved; wrangling horses (catching, saddling, packing, leading), baking and cooking meals, housekeeping (laundry, preparing guest rooms, cleaning), gardening (planting, watering, harvesting produce), woodworking (building fences, gates & trailers), haying (driving tractors, hay hauling), organising tack and camp equipment, collecting firewood, and clearing epic trails!
Thanks again Alex, Aaron and Annalena for making my experience in Canada! I’ll miss your high energy and great stories!Comentarios

We were really glad to have David join us at our lodge in Chilcotin, BC for 3 months. He was a fantastic addition to our team! His versatility, enthusiasm, and ability to learn quickly were greatly appreciated. We thoroughly enjoyed working with David and would be excited to welcome him back whenever he feels like returning!

I spent a month at the lodge in the summer and it was such a wonderful time. Starting with the location, the landscape, the mountains, the view, the lodge itself, the way it is furnished. Everything is just so beautiful. Aaron and Annalena are in the process of taking over the business, so you can tell that a lot of things are in a state of
… read more transition and there isn't always a clear structure. But that's completely normal and I'm sure that many things will have found their own way by next year. The tasks were very varied. From cleaning the lodge, to clearing out rooms, to trail cutting, to preparing meals, to peeling rails and much more. In addition to the work, we also had lots of fun moments. We went to the lake by boat and had a swimming day, which was great. Or we spent our lunch break at the waterfall, or went on a short hike together as a group in the evening. So there were lots of great experiences alongside the work. What is also important to mention is that this is not a place for someone who wants to sit on a horse a lot. I had a total of four rides in four weeks, which were wonderful and unforgettable. It was great for me, but you have to be aware of it beforehand. The best thing about my time at the lodge was definitely the people I was surrounded by. There were a few other workawayers there at the same time. And the group atmosphere was just really nice, I made good friends and made great memories with them. Everyone is always helpful and always up for a good time. A big thank you also goes to Alex, who set up the lodge. He is such a lovely and warm-hearted person who makes the place very special. Overall, Aaron and Annalena do a great job and I am very grateful for the great time I was able to experience.

I spent three months with Alex and Zoe in the summer of 2019, and it turned out to be the best summer of my life. What a beautiful place, and how much fun the people are! I absolutely loved my time at the lodge and cannot recommend staying with Alex and Zoe highly enough. I stayed at Alex' place for more than a month this summer and it was sure one of my best experiences on my whole canada trip. They live in a huge lodge in a beatiful valley in the middle of the wildnerness. Although it's off grid it was always busy there and friends, guest or family around. There was hardly a day where we were less than 10 people!
… read more We've had lots of building projects and there was always something to do. I improved my carpentry skills so much that I can't tell; it was just great. My absolute highlite was a 5 day backcountry horseback riding trip, but there were also lots of other things to do like fishing with a huge raft on the Tatlayoko lake or hiking on- or off-trail.
Alex is an awesome guy, super funny and always in a good mood. He helps you out as good as he can and can teach you a lot. His mother Jerry who lives there knows storys that could fill quite a few books as she was the first hunting guide in that area. Zoey, Alex' girlfriend is super friendly and always cares for you.
I can highly recommend that stay. If you are willing to work you get a lot in exchange!Solo puedes ponerte en contacto con workawayers con membresías activas.
