    Description

Hello, we are Angel, Valeria, and our baby Astor.

We live in San Carlos de Bariloche, in the heart of Argentine Patagonia, where since 2016 we have been developing a sustainable home project built with wood, mud, clay, and recycled materials. Our house was created with our own hands and with the generous help of many volunteers who have passed through over the years.

In 2019, a heavy snowstorm falls a giant tree that destroyed the house almost completely. It was a very painful moment, but it also sparked an incredible wave of solidarity. Thanks to helping hands, tireless effort, and a huge amount of love, we were able to rebuild our home and have been living in it again since 2022. That collective process remains one of the most meaningful experiences of our lives.

Recently, we were less active on our profile because our son Astor was born — he is now a year and a half old.
His arrival changed our pace: we work more slowly, dedicate more time to parenting, and many tasks were put on hold. Now we want to reactivate the project and welcome volunteers again during January 2026.

What do we need this summer?

We are looking for capable, responsible, and proactive volunteers, with a good attitude for working outdoors. The main tasks will be:

Clearing weeds and general land maintenance

Gardening and restoring the vegetable garden

Touch-ups and small repairs on clay and mud plaster

Rebuilding the greenhouse and preparing the growing spaces

You don’t need to be an expert — just genuinely willing to help and learn.

    What do we offer?

Accommodation in a private room inside the house

    Use of the shared kitchen

A calm, respectful, family-style environment surrounded by forest and mountains

Cultural exchange: we love cooking, learning recipes from other countries, and sharing long meals and conversations

The chance to be part of a living project that continues to grow thanks to volunteers from around the world

Our home continues to be a symbol of reconstruction, community, and hope. Every person who came left something beautiful behind, and we hope that those who visit this summer also find a meaningful space here.

Thank you for reading and for considering being part of our journey.

    With affection,

    Vale, Angel and baby Astor

Hola, somos Angel, Valeria y nuestro bebé Astor.
