    The organisation; is a community based youth and child focused organisation which started in 2014 by a former VSO International volunteer and inspirator- (volunteer) with action Aid International Bangladesh respectively plus four National Women Volunteers in Uganda on a voluntary basis who were concerned with the increased number of young girls and boys living in poverty that were unable to continue with higher Education after completing their primary level due to poverty, HIV AIDS effects and injustices hence becoming more vulnerable to early marriage.The work of the organisation all together is to address the Physical, emotional, spiritual,Educational and psycho-social needs of children, Youth' life and people living with HIV/ AIDS.

    " enhancing a progressive society with a sustainable basis for livelihood".

    The mission of the organisation;

    To fulfill God's heart for children ; we plan to achieve this through;

    a) Nutrition for children bellow 5 years, breast feeding and pregnant young mothers
    b) Child protection and advocacy
    c) Youth participation and empowerment initiatives
    d) Institutional capacity development
    e) Health and HIV/AIDS awareness
    f) Environment protection and resilience
    g) Education support for children and youth living in poverty

    OUR THEORY OF CHANGE:
    " Vertical development and village clustering or zoning"; Given our experience and exposure in development thinking,we believe in concentrating in a small area when addressing critical issues that affects the community and clustering the village into " ZONES" as each zone within the village has different needs that affects it, even though they may have cross cutting needs. This approach helps to address the root causes of the problem hence everlasting solutions.

    Legal status;

    To ensure legal validity, has so far obtained a registration from the government community development department at the sub district level which was obtained in 2015. And we are in the process of upgrading to the district level.


    Location of the organisation:

    This project is located at kayabwe Equator in Nkozi Sub county, Mpigi district 82 km from Kampala the Capital city of Uganda.


    OUR WORKING APPROACH

    The organisation run it's integrated development activities in Nkozi sub district in Mpigi District, and it's where it regulates its project activities and maintains communication and liaison with concerned government departments, stake holders and other development partners .

    Important to note we have entered into partnership with churches, hospitals, healthy centers, Uganda Martyr's University Nkozi, high schools, primary schools, key farmers and farmer groups to implement our interventions in a practical approach for easy knowledge sharing and transfer,to enable our friends the international interns, volunteer to enjoy their stay with us, so feel free to join us.

    The CBO is run by a general body (GB) consists of 20 members of different professionals. GB meets once a yearly in the annual General meeting ( AGM). The role if GB is to elect Executive committee (EC) members for the 2 years duration, review the ongoing organizational activities and approves the yearly organizational activity plan.

    The Executive Committee ( EC) consists of 6 members - elected by the GB for two years duration. EC meets once in every three months to discuss the progress of the organizational activities, take part in policy making process, organizational management, development and take initiative to implement the different activities of the organization and solve problems if the organization faces so far.

    The CBO also has got an advisory committee (AC) consists of 3 members from different professionals selected by the GB for 2 years duration. The role of AC is to advice the EC while the organization faces any critical crises or problem and plays an active role on organizational management and development.

    In order to improve the well being of the children and youth through our Catch them younger" campaign, we welcome people who can support or participate in one or some of the following areas;

    a) Teaching in secondary school or day care center, to support by teaching children and teachers creative writing, art painting, give support in the development of reading materials, writing story books with children and teachers to enable them improve their writing and reading skills.
    b) Teaching Youth and children sustainable life skills for development in schools and communities.
    c) Web site development,
    d) Funding proposal development and marketing the project; Our organisation is focused on improving the well being of children and youth both in school and their villages so that they can enjoy a safe environment, but currently our greatest challenge are funds for this reason we are welcoming business people for donations of any kind, we also welcoming volunteers with willingness and experience in grant- proposal development and fundraising skills to us in development of funding proposals and to market us, l do believe your generosity can make a great deference in the life of Children and youth in this community
    e) Oral (dental), eye care and treatment and conducting individual child health screening
    f) hygiene sensitization - supplying reusable sanitation sanitary kits to our village and school going girls
    g) Developing learning Aids in the day care and Nursery section.
    h) Training Women groups fruit tree propagation
    i) Developing advocacy and campaign strategies on various child development issues
    j) Training youth on key vocational skills like soap making, candle making, sustainable sanitation pads making for girls.
    k) Developing and creating child friendly environment materials in local government schools.
    l) Training or equipping Sunday school teachers with skills of managing Sunday schools in a holistic approach and teaching in Sunday school.


    So for this matter, we are currently looking for volunteers to to support our " future farmers" interventions in primary Schools which are aided by the government and " catch them younger" initiative which is aimed at Mobilizing, engaging and empowering children and youth with life skills, advocacy and lobbying skills, child protection skills, to enable them contribute to a violent free community, the initiative is aimed at also at creating awareness on the effects of early marriage and teenager pregnancy.

    We also need to meet knew people and make friends from different part of the world to enable us learn new culture and language for this we can host you as a family guest in our compound.

    There is a house with two rooms which can can accommodate two people at ago as per moment, with a bath room inside, with a pit latrine out side it in good condition.

    we also provide meals .

    There is harvested clean rain water and tap water with in the compound. But not inside the house.

    Currently we have solar which runs only 4 hours in the night in case you are using a lop top and a few appliances but the lights can go up to morning, this solar only is used in the night time, but at office we use electricity.

    Inline with security the accommodation is in the compound of the one of the founder hence place is secured.

    For those with special dietary needs/ cases, please let us know in advance for effective proper planning of your comfortable stay with us. In case you feel you want to cook/ prepare your own meals according to your desire or other issues, you are free to do so, we shall not be offended.

    First of all, We are located at the equator line which is a tourist center with a lot of cultural items to enjoy everyday in your free time with all types of dishes as per your taste.

    Secondly, We are near the crocodile farm which is 16 Km a way from the project area with accommodation for visitors and place for resting. There various fishing grounds and landing sites in some parts of our catchment areas, there is a nearby local beach within our part of the catchment area.

    There is a hotel near our office with a swimming pool so life become enjoyable.

    In line with transport, currently the organisation is not having a project a car as we have not yet manged to secure funds to buy one. The organisation has acquired an one motorcycle which we normally use for transport purpose, we also use public transport like taxi or motorcycle, to execute our activities. But transport are not a problem as buses, mini buses and small vans are always available for transport.

    But for near by places we normally walk in case it is a walk able.

    As we work and live with our good and valuable volunteers, we would expect them to respect and value their life and health and mind their security all the time.

    We expect them not to smoke, drink in the public, office. It would be good for them to respect the children we work with as per our child protection policy.

    We welcome any kind of donation for our community which is not for security threat of the country

    Due to wealth skills and knowledge we acquire from our friends / volunteers, We have decided not to charge any fee from our dear special friends.

    HITS ON CLOTHES;

    1. For male visitors plan to bring trousers and light button - up shirts and T.shirts

    2. Female visitors will free more comfortable in skirts, jean trousers, dresses, T.shirts which cover knees, breasts.

    PICK UP FROM THE AIRPORT

    Though the organisation is not having a project vehicle, the organisation will make sure that organizes avan to pick you from the air port to the destination which is only 82km from the Kampala city of Uganda to the project area on Kampala- Masaka road. So there is no need to worry about it.

    MONEY MATTERS;

    It is good idea that you come with money in the right form for your personal stay and comfort.

    READ ME:

    Cash can be exchanged on arrival at the airport and at different Banks with in the city and we have one branch within our area of operation with the best services. It is good idea to bring US dollars or UK pounds ONLY. For Us dollars only accept $ 50 and $ 100 us dollar denomination notes, all small notes have a lower rate value exchange. With the US dollar denomination notes MUST be printed after 2009 and above as these are the one that are acceptable on Market here.
