… read more tasks carefully and if you have any questions, you can ask anytime. I also enjoyed a lot working with Ties, another volunteer from the Netherlands. The garden is wonderful and huge, so there is always something to do. You can divide the five hours of working mostly free, so that's perfect if you wanna do a spanish course in Conil or surfing in your freetime. The area around this place is amazing, nice cities to visit (you can take the bus as well) and the beach is only 15min by bike, which you can always use. If you want some peace and quiet, you can enjoy the garden and pool. It's like a littel paradise around the house.

We arranged for him to come on a Friday, then he posponed it to Sunday and he never arrived...
I contacted him several times on Sunday but didn't get any answer....
He contacted me on Tuesday saying that he had his mobile off.

My first workaway experience with Belén was amazing!
I stayed there for a month but the time was passing soo fast and I was a little sad when it was time to leave.
Belén already had many workawayers, also people that tried this concept for the first time.
She is very patient, organized and explains the task carefully every week and makes sure that
… read more you understood everything correctly.
The main work consists of watering the plants and oxygenating the soil but apart form that I learned many other things like, for example, how to plant potatoes and how to cut plants correctly and I’m sure that I can apply these things to our garden at home too.
The amount of work is different every day and the working hours are pretty flexible wherefore you have enough time to relax in the beautiful garden, go to the beach by bike, explore the surrounding and visit the beautiful Andalusian city Cádiz.
Moreover, Belén is very open minded and lets every workawayer explain his/her ideas for the garden.
I was staying here at the same time as a Norwegian couple and we got along pretty well.
Furthermore, I also enjoyed the company of the dog Cooper that stayed with us ever when Belén had to work in Cádiz.
It can happen that you stay alone here for a few days but nevertheless you can always talk to Belén through the phone if you have any doubts or questions.
And also my Spanish improved a lot.

Mi primera experiencia de workawayer con Belén fue fantástica.
Estaba ahí para un mes pero el tiempo pasó muyy rápidamente.
Belén ya tenía muchos workawayers, también gente que lo hace por la primera.
Es muy paciente, organizada y explica las tareas cada semana cuidadosamente.
El trabajo principal consiste en regar las plantas y oxigenar la tierra pero aparte de eso aprendí mucho más, por ejemplo plantar patatas y cortar plantas, que puedo emplear en nuestro jardín en casa.
La cantidad de las tareas varia de día a día pero en definitivo queda suficiente tiempo para relajarse en el jardín hermoso, ir en bicicleta a la playa, ver el entorno y visitar la ciudad de Cádiz que es muy bonita.
Además, Belén es abierta de mente y deja explicar a cada workawayer sus ideas para el jardín.
Estuve con una pareja Noruega y nos entendíamos muy bien.
También disfrutaba de la compañía del perro Cooper que también estaba con nosotros cuando Belén tenía que trabajar en Cádiz.
Puede ocurrir que estás solo - para algunas día pero no obstante si tienes alguna duda puedes preguntar a Belén por móvil.
Además mi español se ha mejorado mucho.

… read more much. The garden is beautiful and fruitful, the fruit trees as well, and I really enjoyed the chickens. Daily work is not too demanding, with some days requiring more physical labor than others. However, there is ample free time to ride the bikes to the beach or see the local scenery. It is a great balance. And if you like dogs, Cooper is great!! I highly recommend this spot!!

… read more of the garden and this is what contributes to the harmony of the place, as much as when we worked, Belen made the paper list of tasks to be performed for the week and it allowed to keep nothing out... This is the quality I noticed the most at Belen as well as his kindness 🤩 . Cooper is a great dog who will want to jump you at the first encounter, personally I prevent him 😅 . First project with pool and I have to say that it's a real plus, especially when it's 35°C 😄
I loved the beach nearby, only about twenty minutes by bike. The vegetable garden is great and I very much appreciated participating in his interview. The primary task is to water because it never rains. Only cactus are not requesting 😅 . The house is beautiful from the outside as well as inside. 6 lovely hens to look after and eggs as reward 😀 . I also enjoyed a lot of going to visit Cadiz and the rest of the family at the same time, which is very kind.

Another of his habilities was bread and pizzas!! Everytime Mo made pizzas everyone stayed for dinner!! Really excellent!!! We all miss having Mo around... Also Cooper!!! … read more is almost required that you are physically fit in order to work in the garden. It can be demanding at times, however you are never left alone with something that is above your skills or abilities. Belen showed me everything and explained all the tasks very well. She is also very open to other opinions and ways of achieving the tasks, which i valued a lot.
When you stay there, you are not 'just' a workawayer, you are almost a part of the family, sharing meals, conversations and day trips.
I was able to improve my Spanish a lot by talking to Belen, her relatives and friends, who were all very patient and spoke slowly and gave me time to respond in Spanish.
This is a great place for workawayers and i definitely recommend it!

We cooked together, played games or did some trips to the beaches and villages around the area. My highlights were: surfing in El Palmar, hiking in sierra de grazalema, trip to Ronda and Jerez and of course my favourite andalucian city: Cadiz!
I liked that I could choose my working hours, that I had my own room and that I could always talk to Belen, if I had any questions.
This is a magical place and I can't wait to come back!
