  We’re more than just a kite school – we’re a close-knit family located in one of the most unique spots in the Caribbean. Our school sits on stunning flat, clear, and warm waters, perfect for all levels of kiteboarding.
  
  Playa Buen Hombre is a hidden gem – a small fishing village where everyone knows each other, creating a safe and welcoming vibe. Over the past three years, I’ve been working to share this magical place with the world. I founded our kite school to support the local community, employing 12 local instructors and training them to become IKO-certified professionals. We’re proud to be the only IKO center within a 3-hour radius!
  
  But we can’t do this alone. Whether it’s helping us keep the space organized, lending a hand at the school, simply spreading the word, your support makes a difference. Come kite with us, immerse yourself in our culture, and be part of our family. You’ll arrive as a guest and leave as one of us.

  This town is very small, and most people don’t speak English, so it’s a perfect place to practice your Spanish. Our staff is made up almost entirely of local guys, so you’ll be truly immersed in life here in Buen Hombre, with everyone hanging out together all the time.
  
  We also have a kite school, and the conditions here are excellent. If you don’t kite yet or don’t have your own equipment, you can take lessons or rent gear from us. Prices are determined in person, and classes are subject to availability.

  Arbeit

  We are a new school. I need help maintaining, building and developing the place. You can also help around the school with english speaking customers and if you are an IKO Instructor then you will be able to give classes. We have a good vibe and our priority is to have a good time and to make new friends. If you have any other skills to offer / possible projects that you think you could help with when you get here, I am open to talking about them as always trying to develop the space!

  Unterkunft

  A shared room with bunk beds will be provided up to four people at a time. The apartment has a large kitchen you can use to prepare your own meals. In addition, eggs are available for breakfast at the school, and we cook group meals together there.
  
  The apartment is new and located in the city center, about a 10–15 minute walk from the beach and the school. Up to seven people may be staying in the apartment at once. A grocery store is conveniently located right across the street.

  You can kite on one of the world best undiscovered spots. This is paradise for kiting. Closest Airport are Santiago 2 hours, Puerto Plata 2.5 hours, Santo Domingo 4.5 hours and Cancún 6.5 hours. Caribe Tours is a great bus service that can bring you to Villa Vasquez, our closest big town that is around 25 minutes from Buen Hombre. On days off a lot of our volunteers go snorkelling, spear fishing, kiting and making art. Even on days off, people usually hang out at the beach as it is kind of the center of everything!

  We currently have 11 cats that we have taken in and take care of, feed them and Fix them so they dont have babies. The village people dont really like cats so we act as an unofficial cat rescue.
