My name is Nancy.
I moved to Mexico from US and have lived in Riviera Maya for 40 years. SAVE, our ngo was started in 1998 I am an environmentalist, cave diver, entrepreneur, and animal advocate. I am hosting for the government, Semarnat, a turtles protection facility on the beach of Aventuras Akumal. At the moment, we are one of the most important beach in the Atlantic, with the most turtle nests per square meter. We need volunteers for the turtle's nesting season from May to Nov. We hope that you will be able to assist us at at the Camp 2024.Types of help and learning opportunities

You will get unforgettable life experiences and learn unique things. You will be dealing with turtles personally after the short initiation with our experienced specialists. You will be staying on the gorgeous beach, where you can snorkel - there is a coral reef 100 meters from the shore. You can explore lovely Riviera Maya in your free time.
Help
We need animal lovers to help us to measure the mother turtles, mark their nests,, and whenhatching make sure they reach the ocean, and count their egg shells. You will be working 6 hours shift at night time - approximately from 8 pm till 1 am mor so, or from 1 am till 7 am. Turtles are nesting and hatching at night. You will have also to write a report after each shift. You will have one day off. You will get unforgettable life experiences and learn really unique things. This job is very exciting. You will love it.

We are providing a bed in 5 beds room with separate equipped kitchen and bathroom in the beautiful comfortable villa on the gorgeous beach of Aventuras Akumal and two meals per day, with additional fruits for breakfast. Air condition and WiFi included. Public transport is within 8 minutes walking distance.
There is a Beach Bar on the property. You will be able to buy there anything if you will feel that two full meals are not enough.What else ...

we had the occasion to see these beautiful animals so often every time during nesting season.
Marine turtles are very interesting to study and to watch. The work is during night so you have all day to snorkel on the beach, go kayaking and visit some places of interests near by.
