    Hello Potential Workawayers,

Our family farm is located 80 km outside of Rehoboth (the closest town) and approximately 160 km from Windhoek (the capital city). We are a family of five primarily engaged in farming Simbra cattle, sheep, goats, and chickens. Additionally, we have horses that require training. We've been working on developing a fruit forest, which doubles as a campsite, and a family homestead to sustain ourselves from our garden.

We are seeking Workawayers who can help us turn this dream into a reality. We welcome individuals with expertise in greenhouses, practicing regenerative farming, offering insights on garden maintenance, composting, and worm farming. If you simply want to experience life on a real farm immersed in nature, you are also more than welcome.

For accommodation, Workawayers can choose between staying in a caravan or a small room that was built by previous Workawayers. These accommodations are currently in need of toilet and shower facilities, which could be considered a separate project for volunteers.

We as a family mostly eat animal products. If that is your diet you more than welcome to eat with us, and we have seasonal vegetables in the garden. Anything else needed would be for the awayers pockets. You must clean your own accommodations. There is no domestic help on the farm, and kitchen duties will be shared among everyone. Whatever is growing seasonally in the garden is available for your use.

In return for accommodation, we would like your assistance for 3 hours a day during the week.

During weekends, you have the option to explore the rest of Namibia at your own expense. Nearby attractions include Lake Oanob Resort, Gamsberg, Solitaire, Sossusvlei, Daan Viljoen, Hardap Dam, Gocheganas, Swakopmund (400 km away), Solitaire, and Windhoek. If you plan to spend the weekend in Rehoboth, we have a flat for your accommodation.

Transportation will be provided from Rehoboth to the farm. We require a minimum stay of 2 weeks and can accommodate stays of up to 3 months. If you simply wish to come and camp, we welcome that option as well, and we can discuss associated fees.

If you're in need of a genuine break and want to experience farming in the old-fashioned way, disconnecting from the daily hustle, and enjoying walks in nature (please note, there is no TV, and internet access is limited to certain areas of the farm), you are more than welcome to spend time with our family on our farm.

We have solar panels for lighting, and we use gas for cooking as an alternative to a wood stove and a wood-based water heater.

    Best regards,

    The Olivier Family

If you are a student wanting a clean canvas to do their art on, this would be the perfect learning curve. Or just maybe you need to get away and clear your mind. This African farm will put you in the heart of nature and allow yourself to find yourself without having to worry about shelter. It is farming the old style where can still appreciate the quietness of nature and where you can walk in nature and be safe.
