Vom Workawayer (Moritz) für Host
Jan was my first workaway-experience. And now I totally want to make a next one. Why?
First of all it was tons of new skills I learned. Before the project, I just worked with some soft carpentry skills from time to time. Afterwards I had a clearer vision about the needs and the how to's. I helped building the tiny house, a parking space and with

Plus, it was a lot of fun! We had a BBQ, went to his sons soccer match and a pizza-theoffice-evening.
Through all of that, Jan is super heartwarmed, openminded and especially experienced in multiple things as he works as an investigative journalist. So already listening to his experiences is an adventure itself!
Whenever we disagreed, I could easily communicate and we searched for solutions immediately.

In the video chat we had before he said that his building skills were limited, but that he was eager to learn and that he had no problem doing extra hours. That's exactly how it turned out. Moritz was quick to learn new skills and was really dedicated to the

Moritz is also a really lovely person to have over. Very cheerful, smart, curious, mature and respectful. He's welcome anytime again, and I highly recommend hosting this wonderful person.

It was a pleasure to help Jan. He is a very easy going person and a great communicator. I didn't spend any nights there but felt very welcome and at ease at his place. He (and his beautiful child) provided fresh juice and pizza which was very kind. Also because of his job Jan has lots of interesting stories to tell. Totally recommend!

I had time to go for bike rides and get to know the city. Public transport is amazing and accessible and 2 weeks were enough for me to fall madly in love with this touristic place. Thanks to Jan for the opportunity to be able to help , be part of your routine and learn more about Belgian customs! I've spent 5 days in April and had a good time cleaning, cooking, moving boxes and putting furniture together. The hours of work were flexible.
Jan is easy going and as a reporter, he has many interesting stories to tell.
The food was really good. The area is pleasant : quiet and green with some shops close by.
