  UPDATE April 2025: Hi everyone! We are now preparing for the upcoming summer season in the beautiful Albanian Riviera. We will be very busy this year as we have three main operations and we will need help. Our main focuses this year are:
  - Our fifth summer operating as a hostel in Vuno
  - Boat, kayak, and SUP board rental in Jal beach
  - Opening a vegetarian cafe in Himare
  
  For May we are looking for one helper to help us all around as the season will just be starting and will be slow. Ideally this person can help between the hostel and in opening the cafe.
  
  It is good if you are comfortable with cleaning, doing dishes, and doing laundry. We are looking for friendly people who want to talk to our guests. Most importantly it is good if you are a self starter and are able to work independently during your shifts. We are very busy and cannot be around to tell what needs to be done all of the time. After a couple of days you should understand our rhythm and needs and see where you can be of help.
  
  For June, July, and August, we will need 2-3 people to help us with all of our projects.
  
  Please let us know what experience you have whether with hostels, restaurants, or boats and we will see where you fit best.
  
  We really prefer long term travellers who are looking to slow down on their long journeys over tourists who come to Albania for a few weeks. Both you and us will get much more out of the experience if you stay awhile and get to know the area. We are great guides and know everyone, so you will feel like a local fast :) We prefer to take volunteers for one to two weeks in the beginning to see if it is a good fit, and if everyone is happy, to extend for a longer period. The summer here is really a fun time between hanging out in the village drinking raki, walking beautiful trails, exploring beaches with the boats and kayaks, and meeting people from all over the world!
  
  These are paid opportunities. We can offer the minimum wage in Albania of 300 a month with stay included but no food included.

  We are Bree and Adrian, a couple living in Albania. Adrian has moved back and forth between Germany and Albania for the past several years and I am an American who decided to stay in Albania while coming here on a side-trip from Turkey. Five summers ago we moved into a beautiful old stone house in the village of Vuno right on the Albanian Riviera. We have a terrace overlooking the Mediterranean Sea, two big rooms with fireplaces, a basement we've renovated completely into a salon and private room, a kitchen with all appliances, two bathrooms, and wifi.
  
  We opened the house into a hostel for tourists -- renovating and restoring basically everything in the old house. We now work fully in tourism here in Albania. This will be our fifth summer operating as a hostel. We also sell food and operate various tours here in the area.

  Vuno is a beautiful village situated along the Albanian Riviera between Gjipe Canyon and Jale Beach. Himara, the Greek town is just 7 km away. Vuno is surrounded by amazing nature, canyons, waterfalls, and tons of hiking trails. The length of the riviera is full of beaches from busy to secluded. Vuno is a great base to explore the Riviera from any direction. We go to the beach all the time to swim, relax, kayak, fish, etc!
  
  Vuno itself is a small and peaceful place. The village is full of old stone houses and beautiful stairs that take you around the neighborhood filled with flowers and fruits growing. There are two cafes (both with wifi) where the locals sit all day and drink espresso and rakija and eat good food :)

  Arbeit

  We need help with:
  - Basic maintenance of the hostel. This includes cleaning the house, making rooms for guests, changing bed sheets, doing dishes, doing laundry.
  - Operating the hostel. This includes checking in guests as they arrive, making them feel comfortable, and explaining the area to them.
  - Operating our cafe. We are looking for someone who is good in the kitchen, doesn't mind prepping vegetables and doing dishes.
  - Assisting with boat rentals. Must be comfortable in the sea.

  We can offer a bed in the dorm room. We also sleep outside under the stars on our big terrace many nights :)

  Was noch ...

  There is a lot to explore from Vuno and our house is just 2 minutes walk up from the main road where the auto buses run up and down all day. Hitchhiking is also very common along the Riviera and it is no problem to get a ride to where you are going.
  
  We are both very friendly and respectful people who have traveled a lot. We have a lot of energy and like to have a good time. When you stay with us, what is ours is yours and we eat and drink good :) You can feel totally at home here while helping us.
